If I only had a pen for every time I said I wouldn't buy anything for 6 months! lol - oops I have! You will never make it! :ltcapd:

I know what you mean. It would help if I stayed off this forum. gaah.gif

A Parker 51, from an Ebay auction that ended Monday night. I kept watching the countdown clock in the last couple of minutes, fully expecting to be sniped at the last second....

Now I keep checking the tracking number every couple of hours, even though the expected delivery is said to be January 31.... :bonk:

Is it always this way when you win something? It's only the second online auction I was in, and I'm SOOO impatient! I want it to come so I can see what color it really is -- the seller called it "maroon", which *could* mean that it's plum (but probably isn't).

(I of course did *not* win the auction for the plum 51 Demi that ended tonight.... :glare:)

I totally blew my pen budget for this month! I am (forcibly) patiently waiting for the arrival of 4 pens, a bottle of ink & a FP friendly journal. A bit much but I love them all!

I'm a geek with a fountain pen.

Well I looked again just now, even though the post office in CA is probably closed long since. The USPS tracking website info is now saying February 1. :headsmack:

Yes, I am replying to my own post, thanks for noticing  -- it seemed easier than to try an edit of the original post, given that it was posted at least an hour ago at this point....

I'm on a Sheaffer Touchdown binge. I count 6 in a month's time. Three are here, in use. Three are on the way. Must stop.

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

I just practiced absolutely NO self-control these few months. I just pulled the trigger on a Platinum #3776 Chartres Blue in EF just now on GouletPens.com (they're just so awesome...) I'm definitely just keeping it to inks and paper for a while...

Pulled the trigger on what has to be my last pen for quite a while: a Noodler's Ahab clear demonstrator from the Goulets, which shipped this morning! (Also a bottle of Diamine Red Dragon to put in it, and a Rhodia Reverse Notebook (one of the 8.25x8.25in wirebound books) for writing out logic proofs, because I am apparently that much of a nerd.) I was contemplating a Lamy Vista, but the Ahab is almost $10 cheaper ($15 when you figure in the converter), I want to try a brand of pen I don't already have, and I'm intrigued by this pen that may require some tinkering, as I like figuring out how things work.

A checked Baoer 79 (Starwalker homage)

I haven't actually tried out Chinese pens before, so I'm excited to find out how this one goes.

Well, the 51 arrived today (haven't even had time to open the package yet, because I'm having to charge up the camera batteries :headsmack: -- I wanted to give it the full court press of the "unveiling"). But while it was still in transit I saw a great deal on a UK made Parker Vector (a "buy it now"), so that one is hopefully now in transit (supposed to arrive sometime next week).

I thought it was about time I had good japanese nibs on mmy desk, so I ordered a Pilot 92 Custom Heritage and a Platinum 3776, both with extra fine nibs.

I am waiting on some paper and a close out sale of TWSBI 540 so I have another scud pen for trying out inks to decide if I want to use them. A Noodlers nib creeper would have been cheaper but the TWSBI is still a good pen......the bases have never been brittle and cracked or broken on my other two. I also ordered a Visconti travellers ink pot from Fountain Pen Hospital in NY.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

A Cross Century (maybe a century II? The seller didn't know) with a barleycorn engine-turned finish that I haven't been able to find any pictures of anywhere. It looks a lot like the one from this video, I think -

. £18 on eBay :)
