Well, I was waiting for a pair of used Pelikan m200s from Germany purchased off eBay...

They failed to turn up and after they failed to arrive in Australia after 4 weeks, I had to ask for a refund.

End of story? Noooo!

They turned up yesterday - a full two months late! I've never had anything arrive in more than 8-9 days from Germany before.

Happy ending (and a happy seller who has just received a boost to their PayPal account).

Hey, I've worked out how to set up an avatar! Next week I'll move onto tying my own shoelaces...

I'm still hoping that the pens I ordered in August and got the refund on last month will show up so I can pay the seller. I really wanted those pens, too.

Got the one from US: thanks speerbob! Superfast ship and no duty taxes!!! :yikes:

Still waiting for my firs jade flat top, in the while...

I am afraid I got +1 instead of receiving.

Current status is:

- STILL 1 from US

- STILL 1 from UK (that's the most worrying of all, it's now almost two weeks...)

- plus another from UK.

The new one will be my first Sheaffy Flat top. It is a pretty discolored jade, but I got it for a small price and I am looking forward to it.

Andre

I am getting nervous not receiving two pens from UK. It's almost three weeks now...

To try to not to think too much on it, tonight I won another Balance 5-30 Jade...

STILL waiting on the Conklin. Called again this morning. Customer service folks weren't in and I'd get a call back in an hour and a 1/2. It's late afternoon now. Sigh... First it takes 2 months for a nib swap, now it's taking 2 weeks to find out if it shipped or not... :bonk:

Looks like this will be my last Conklin LE. :glare: I can understand needing to ship a LE out for service if that particular nib section isn't being used anymore. But the failure to communicate and their cavalier attitude toward what is a mortgage payment for me is purely infuriating. I was supposed to get a tracking number LAST week. Now they can't even tell me where it is.

Same deal about some inbound from the US. One of them is one of the very few that I really fell for at first sight and has it my ideal nib fitted, the others are not far behind in the pecking order. However, if they don't arrive it's just a minor inconvenience, nobody goes hungry, gets hurt, or dies. Perspective.

There is a tide in the affairs of men which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the current when it serves or lose our ventures.

That's a shame, GP. That kind of poor service will eventually put them under, and the ones who lose the most are likely not the ones who don't care.

On a happier note - I just received my Aurora 98 from Italy! It works great with Noodler's Black. It's my first piston filler, y'all, and now that I'm in the club, I can also say, unequivocally and categorically, without a shadow of remorse, that piston fillers are better. Just ask me!

"Hey, mister Exaltency, or Grand Vizier, or whatever your title is. Is the piston better?"

-"My son, like you I once was lost, without direction in life, like a piece of wood adrift on the open sea. Now I have seen the light and can say: Pistons are great!"

Maybe I should make a YouTube horror video about this pen and mechanical clocks - "The Piston and the Pendulum".

Glad it's not just me! Waiting increasingly anxiously for nearly 3 weeks for a Van Gogh tortoiseshell from a board member across the Pond, my first really big hit .... it's not true, I will get hurt if it doesn't arrive!!! :crybaby:

Have had to console myself with a Parker 100 cobalt ST, Carene marine amber, and a 'lucky' Baoer Eight Horses (had to be - horses are my main passion, sorry pens!), all of which should arrive sooooon!!!

(Edited to add that am sure non-arrival is no reflection on the board member, just the postal service!) ((And re-edited to correct that it's only actually 11 days I've been waiting. Just seems like longer, sigh ....)

Right, now I'm going to get a grip .... :hmm1:
