An Aikin Lambert 1904 Eye-Dropper, with a Nr 2 flex nib, in 9 ct gold overlay with a snail pattern (I have developped a fetish for snail patterns, is it because I'm french ;) ).

A mint-condition Pelikan 100 and a black barley Onoto 6233 should be arriving shortly. Once upon a time, I only ever bought new, and now I'm all about vintage. Funny how much tastes can change over time.

Graf von Faber-Castell | Conway Stewart | Pelikan | Romain Jerome | ST Dupont | Parker | De La Rue | Wahl-Eversharp | Mabie Todd | Sheaffer | Cross | Montegrappa | Summit | Pilot | Lamy

It's been a bad fortnight...I'm waiting for:

Graf von Faber-Castell ebony classic with a broad nib

Graf von Faber-Castell platinum plated classic with an oblique broad nib

Visconti homo sapiens rollerball

Visconti homo sapiens with a medium nib (I bought this weeks ago but had to send it back on warranty to the seller and I'm waiting to get it back)

A pelikan m600 rollerball NOS

A deceased estate lot of pens. (~50) including an MB Boheme BP, a 166 highlighter and an as yet unidentified very small MB BP

A Chinese pen that's clearly "inspired" by GvFC classic/pen of the year, they call it (spelling is repeated verbatim): "NOBBEST the rock design and white rollerball"

I also bought a rollerball grip section so I can convert one of my GvFC pens to a rollerball and a GvFC leather coin pouch. I really like the GvFC leather products but after my recent mad spending spree I don't think I would have any mony to put in a wallet if I bought one. The coin pouch is perfect for me though since ive been using a Raymond Weil passport wallet thing for a wallet and it doesn't have a zipped coin section.

I think I'm going to need some help from my forum friends to identify some of the pens from the estate lot. With the exception of a few separate pens in their original cases they're just a pile of pens in an old Arnotts tin though some of them look like they're nice old rolled gold and maybe even a couple cross townsends...I can't even guess at the rest from the pictures I've seen.

Anyhow I think I've gone a little mad...can you believe that just 10 weeks ago I was blighting my finger nails and ummming and ahhhing over whether I should buy a monteverde invincia?

WTB: the following GvF-C classic FPs (pref. B or OB nib) or rollerballs: platinum plated, gold plated, solid sterling silver, ebony anello and gold anello, PM me!

(also interested in most other GvF-C products in general, i.e any writing tools, leather goods, advertising/packaging)

Thanks Phrenzy! 1904 is the date the date the pen was engraved. It should be a little bit older. A review will be posted when I get it, so if there are patents I'll detail.

I assume it's all hand engraved? Its just impressive all over...does it write? and if it does, does it wright right and or well? I'd live to see a picture of the nib if you have time some time...

And to think I'm nervous about getting a 60s vintage Parker...points for bravery

In all honesty, the questions are more :

- Can it write better than my other Aikin Lambert in Golpheresque pattern or my Mabie Todd Snail pattern ?

- Is the Nr2 nib incredibly than the incredibly incredible Nr1 nib ?

- It is the best pen ever, or just among the five best pens ever (some old Waterman's and Mabie Todd might want to enter the competition)?

- Is the nib super flex, mega flex, hyper flex, ultra flex, giga flex, can the tines spread about 40 cms wide ? ;)

Well review in about 10 days.

And I heard today that the nibmeister has received the Pelikan brown tortoise that I picked up at the Philly Pen Show. Alas, he's got an 11 week backlog.

Good thing a blue TWSBI 540 with an EF nib is on its way...
