Waiting on a Custom 92 from halfway 'round the world, and this before even inking the Custom 74 I was so excited about. Also a Sheaffer 300 from Goulet along with a bunch of inks. My first Lost Crates should be coming soon, too, and might have a pen.

Looking at the combined haul from my recent re-entry into collecting, though, perhaps I should let these, be it.

I finally bit the bullet and bought a Pilot 742 with Falcon nib. From Engeika on eBay. I know it will probably arrive before the expected time range, but still ....

I've been debating about buying it for so long it makes it seem like it is taking that much longer to get here.

Awaiting a Geha pistonfiller and a Pelikan 140, purchased on the advice of Bo Bo Olson, also a couple Esties, a Red one with a 2048 and a Blue/Black with a 1461 that may be a franken-pen but was inexpensive enough to pique my interest. Under $100 for all four but I imagine the sacs, talc and shellac I'll need to resurrect the Esties will push me over the edge :)

Cheers, Ted

I am currently awaiting delivery of three pens:

1. NOS Osmiroid 65 with a set of 6 italic nibs

2. Pelikan M200 with a Binderized crisp italic 0.7 mm nib

3. Pelikan M800 Blue O' Blue with a broad italic nib

Each acquisition had a distinct motivation.

The first fountain pen I owned was an Osmiroid. I bought it as a college student in about 1962 in order to learn chancery cursive lettering. I stopped using it a few years later in favor of <gasp> ball point pens when I was a med student. Sometime in the last 10-15 year, I found that the bladder had disintegrated. Not thinking that it could be repaired, I threw it out. Now, I'm really sorry I did.

 Recently, as I approach retirement, I have resumed learning calligraphy. My son and DIL have found an Osmiroid set and are buying it for me. I'd say their motivation was love. If it's as good a pen as I remember it to be, I expect to use it a lot, especially the broader nibs.

B) I have been using a couple of Lamy Safari with 1.1 and 1.5 mm nibs, but I wanted a better pen for everyday use. After a moderate amount of research, I settled on a Pelikan M200, and, after consultation with Richard Binder, ordered it with a fine crisp italic nib. I'd say my motivation was utility.

:puddle: As I was doing the research, I encountered the Pelikan Blue O' Blue Special Edition pen. I think it is purely gorgeous! The Pelikan M800 has been very positively reviewed as a splendid writing instrument, too. The retail price is beyond what I could justify, but then I found Pam Braun was selling it for a price I couldn't resist. At my request, she determined she could get one with the new Pelikan Italic Nib. I have ordered it. I'd say my motivation was lust. I know I will admire this pen as a beautiful object. I'm hoping I enjoy writing with it enough to also use it regularly.

 To say I'm eagerly anticipating receiving these pens is an understatement.

Got my x450 in, but after seeing KrazyIvan's post, I had to order a Baoer 79 Skywalker. I'm going to have more pens than I know what to do with.

IT'S HERE! Just received the Bexley Corona Summer Storm with a fine nib (that writes kinda like a medium - but I'm happy with the line) - Wow! What a gorgeous pen! Nice ans big, exactly the size of the Lamy Safari. But pretty! It shimmers and looks like a 3-D hologram-like pattern when held in direct light! It holds an ocean of ink. The Binderized nib is, as expected, buttery. The free Everflo Blue Black ink is welcome, but it was my second choice to Blue. I'm not a Blue-Black kinda guy

Still in the mail: Less exciting, I'm awaiting...

1) a Plantignum Silverline in black and

2) a rather beat up looking Esterbrook J in green. (I wonder if I can get that rusty looking clip replaced?)

Well in the widest possible sense, and now it's been confirmed that all the models of the FPN/Stipula 2011 LEs are going to be manufactured, I suppose I could say I'm now waiting for an Azurrite Passaporto with Chrome trim, a Modello T, and a blue celluloid Etruria with silver trim and a 0.9 italic nib. Postage time may be a while - like November! :roflmho: That takes care of the pen budget for a few months at least...
