The new Aquamarine Safari with italic nib.

The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter--it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.

Oh, and a nice 8 pen acrylic stand to place them all in. Looked at a wonderful leather box, but it's a bit out of my price range right now.

A Buddy Blackwell holder from John Neal, Bookseller. Okay, technically it's not a pen and it's coming UPS ground, but I'm still waiting for it.

The liberty of the press is indeed essential to the nature of a free state; but this consists in laying no previous restraints upon publications, and not in freedom from censure for criminal matter when published. Every freeman has an undoubted right to lay what sentiments he pleases before the public; to forbid this, is to destroy the freedom of the press; but if he publishes what is improper, mischievous or illegal, he must take the consequence of his own temerity. Lamy Safari in Aquamarine. Need a good pen for air travel so I'm not tempted to take my Parker 51.

Don't have one in the mail, but thinking about catching a cab to one of the local MB boutiques and getting one more. I like the MS Solitaire Fiberglass Silver LeGrand. I need an ink alternative while I'm traveling.

I'm sort of embarrased - I was killing time on Friday looking at Esties on eBay, and threw a low bid on a couple items, and then totally forgot about it.

So after reading my email today and forking $65 bucks out, I am now waiting for:

  • Black Esterbrook Dollar FP (pre-38 clip, low cap band) 1550
  • Black Esterbrook Dollar FP (1938 clip, higher cap band) 2668
  • The Fountain Pens of Esterbook Book.

And with a possible postal strike looming :crybaby:

Hope you get them before the strike-- or even better, that the strike doesn't happen! I'm going to Canada Wednesday and like to send postcards back-- hope that will still be possible.

Got a green Esterbrook dropped on my desk today. In the next few days, hoping to see a promotional FP advertising a meat packing company and two Wyverns.

It's been awhile! --an Aquamarine Safari EF, with an extra italic nib (plus a bunch of ink samples in various shades of blue).
