A 1940's vintage MB 234 1/2 is on its way from Germany after being restored by the incredible Max of maxpens.de. After buying a vintage 136 from Max, I am very excited about getting this new pen as well. I bought the 234 1/2 off a gentleman in the UK who received it as a bequest from his father's (or grandfather's) estate. I had the gentlemen ship it directly to Max for restoration. Pictures of before and after are below.

Gdowne, What an absolutely fabulous find and restoration. Congratulations. I have revisited your post time and time again. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. How long did the restoration take?

I'm patiently waiting, actually excited. Over the weekend I ordered from my local Montblanc Boutique my first Writer's Edition fountain pen, a Thomas Mann with a medium size nib. The pen is coming from Germany, so the wait will be a few weeks. Counting the days!

You will love it Pens Woods. It is a fabulous pen, substantial weight to it but this is merely testament to it's quality. Glad this was my first MB Writer's Edition. Hope the days go quickly. Very lucky because there aren't supposed to be many left!

A MB Hemingway and Dickens from Italy (two different sellers, both online residents here at FPN), a CS Great Exhibition from the Fountain Pen Hospital and a MB Lennon silver 1940 from WorldLux. All being shipped to the office.

I have rarely looked forward to going to work this much.

Signed,

It's been a busy few days on eBay. I am waiting for a Columbus Scriba Giallo w/14K nib; a new, blue Nettuno Barracuda (replaced by the Aurora Qube when Firma acquired Nettuno); and a new-in-box Herlitz set with fp, rb, and ink. (I am really surprised that the Herlitz went for such a relatively low price - just a smidge over $30 with free shipping! It is a well made German piston filler, with an ink view window, and a 14K nib.)

Bought a lamy Nexx M, fine nib.

I was originally looking for something more professional looking than a Safari, but the Al-star did not catch upon me.

Then I found the Nexx and since I plan to use this pen with an orange Giorgio Fedon leather and aluminum note book holder and an orange Faber Castell Loom BP, I bought the Nexx M with the orange cap.

I have quite a collection already, and each of them gives me pleasure as they are all so different and unique. I suppose that's the very nature of collecting fountain pens. I'm now anxiously awaiting for my new Pelikan M1000 from printhardcopy. I have a feeling this is going to be one of my best purchases....

Do you like Thrillers? Read The El Morro Connection. You can find it on Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble.com in the ebook section. Soon it'll be available in hardcopy. It's written by C. Clayton Lewis. And that would be me. Let me warn you, don't start reading it the night before you have to get up early...

Waiting for three eBay purchases:

A black aeromatic Parker 51 rolled gold cap,

a Conway Stewart 27 in green hatch,

and an I don't even know what, but I think it's a Conway Stewart piston filler - bit of a gamble.

Also a new Kato celluloid in wine marble, and plenty of inks and samples.

Another pen from Teri at Peyton St pens, a Sheaffer 330 in fine!

An Esterbrook J in black. And this WILL be my last purchase... except for maybe the TWSBI 700 when it comes out.
