What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

Helloooo fellow pen hounds..... <img src="https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happyberet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":happyberet:" border="0" alt="happyberet.gif" />

...For what pen(s) are you waiting, in the mail? And are you waiting patiently lol....

Just a few minutes ago, took delivery of a Lamy Safari (fine point) - my first FP in many decades. Still waiting on the adaptor, but the Noodler's ink (Black, WP, BP) came with the pen. Not having any patience at all I've loaded the included (Lamy blue) cartridge into the Safari for a test drive.

It's going to take some getting used to - I've been using a Cross BP forever and of course it's a totally different feel.

I'm not yet sold on the finish, but ya gotta start somewhere and $25 is a cheap enough gamble on returning to an old hobby.

Jim

A lovely vintage Conway Stewart 58 in the grey hatch pattern celluloid, with a wet fine point as described in the listing. I had absolutely no intention of buying any pens any time soon, then spotted a 'for sale' on FPN and about 5 minutes later had sent the email to the seller... sometimes these things just call to you! :cloud9:

I just splurged on a Cross Townsend Ruby and I'm having mixed feelings of elation and guilt. hmm1.gif

In some things in life it's better to take a Zen approach. If you think too much you won't achieve your goal, wheras if you don't think and let yourself go, it shall be achieved with ease. I find this helpful in writing, kendo and music.

I just ordered my first fountain pen - a yellow, extra fine Lamy Safari. I got a free converter with it and am currently drooling over the Noodler's reviews in the Ink Review forum...

Due to some shenanigans with the company's website failing to list items out of stock, instead of a marbled green Pelikan m200 I now have black m200 hopefully in the mail :headsmack:

Pelikan m200 F nib - Noodler's Midway Blue

TWSBI Diamond 530 EF nib - Noodler's X-Feather

Pilot Decimo F nib - Noodler's North African Violet

I'm so excited! i just ordered my first Lamy; a charcoal Safari! I love my Schaeffer calligraphy set dearly, cracked barrel and all, but I tried out a friend's Lamy (I believe it was an Al-star) the other day and just fell in love. I also bought a converter so I can use bottled ink, speaking of which, I also bought a bottle of blue-black Lamy ink. I can't wait until it shows up so I can start using it to take notes. I will be checking my PO box compulsively several times a day.

OMG, this might be slightly off-topic but I'm so excited. I just received my first TWSBI Diamond 530 EF today (Monday) after ordering it last Thursday late at night. I can't believe how quick it got here!

The awesome thing is that my Goulet Pens order also arrived today, and it carried the ink that I used to promptly fill the TWSBI: Noodler's Polar Brown.

I really was expecting these two orders toward the end of the week.

Anyway, the TWSBI is incredible. It has easily become my best pen and it pairs very nicely with the Polar Brown.

Those are two really nice pens! So what former favorite thing will be pining away in the drawer?
