What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

I am waiting for a Dupont Defi with a fine point. I have been waiting since the Monday after Thanksgiving. There are many medium point pens available, but hardly any fine points. I have just about given up hope. Someday it will arrive when I least expect it. Perhaps by the first day of spring.

I have waited long, and I have waited patiently, for this pen to appear for a reasonable price. I was also lucky to be reading my email when the message came from FPH about a big update to the Back room, where I scrolled down to see my grail targa. :notworthy1:

Even better, I get the bp too with the fp for about half the price of the last time I saw the targa fp alone for sale. :bunny01:

Should be here in the middle of next week! :cloud9:

Have you tried the new Chilton Wingflow? I just ordered another one. Although clearly a new style pen (with a steel nib) from a resurrected company name, the flow of the nib is impressive and the balance of the pen is superior - as good as the best Sheaffers. So I ordered another one, this time in blue! They are also on sale at Fahrney's - really a great deal!

Using right now:

Jinhao 9019 "EF" nib running Birmingham Railroad Spike

Leonardo Officina Italiana Mosaico Anemone "F" nib running Diamine Autumn Oak

Pineider Tempi Moderni "EF" nib running Montblanc Racing Green

Stipula Suprema Foglio d'Oro "M" nib running Van Dieman's Royal Starfish

A MB 234, from the late '30s, I'd guess. It's my first MB, so I'm a little excited.

But I got it on eBay and the seller seems a little shady - and I'm afraid I'm never going to get it.

Current line-up: Pelikan M805 (EF), Aurora 88 (F), Parker Duofold (F), Delta Titanio (F)

1 Sheaffer brown striated tuckie (triumph nib)

2 Parker vacs (green and gold majors)

Now I need to repeat the mantra.....I will not buy more pens....I will not buy more pens...... I will not buy more pens until I've restored the ones I already have!!!

After coming to this forum, I realized that I was lacking what seems to be a fundamental FP in every collector's collection - a Lamy Safari. To remedy this, I just purchased (20 minutes ago) a Safari. It is matte black with a black EF nib. It is not tecnically in the mail yet, but I am waiting impatiently for it, and will be for the next couple of weeks.

Pens I had no intention of buying, but saw them and... well there went the year's budget. Brian Gray's/Edison Pen Stilwell in black and rhodium, and a black Danitrio Kurokeshi Mikado Urushi (not shiny) from Kevin (winedoc).

My Pens: Cross Century (Matte Black) / Parker Inflection (Stainless) / Hero 329 (Black) / Noodler's free eyedropper (Clear) / Esterbrook LJ (Copper) / Lamy Safari (Red) / Reform 1745 (Green/Black)

This will give you some idea of the type of collector/user I am!! (I do have a few pens from my Dad's estate and a few I have purchased). Currently I am waiting for a shipment from China of 3 Pierre Pauls, and 3 Baoer pens (all fine nibs). Total cost shipped-- $23.42!!

Now I have to see if they ever get here and if they were in fact worth $4 a piece!!

Noodler's Flex Ivory Darkness for me as well (with a bottle of Tienanmen and some paper)

Well, I guess it's most accurate to say I'm waiting for the UPS truck to drop the pen at Goulet HQ and for Brian and/or Rachel to pack my order before I wait for it in the mail.

I'll be paying Bryant tomorrow for a Visconti HS with a fine nib...I've been lusting after one for some time and now is finally the time! He's in Philly through Sunday, so he won't ship until next Tuesday, though.:crybaby:

I am waiting for a Sheaffer Balance in jade green from around 1929-30 and another Sheaffer Balance in gray. Well and then some cheap older pieces to start to learn how I can repair them or at least change the inksac and the like.

But don't you see? The pen is mightier than the sword.
