What pen are you waiting for in the mail?

I haven't used a fountain pen since I was in high school, but this site has inspired me to pick one back up. I am now 53, so it has been a while, but I am waiting to open a box containing a pair of Caran d'Ache fountain pens. An Ecridor and a Leman, both medium. Can't wait.

I'm also trying to remember/figure out what I was using in high school. All I remember was a transparent red plastic bottom to the body.

It's not exactly in the mail since I technically haven't ordered it yet, but it's a vintage BCHR Conklin crescent-filler. I thought about getting a modern one, but then I thought why when I can get an old one instead. Reading Mark Twain's autobiography decided me on finally getting one since I know he promoted them.

I have a Pelikan 140 I bought from the Market Place here on FPN. It has an OB flexible nib. I have never owned a vintage Pelikan before.

I hope it fills well for you. You have some ink to go with that?

I bought some calligraphy ink that was labeled 'Fountain Pen' at our local craft store.

I'll put a post up about it this evening in the Ink Forum to double-check opinions about it.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! I was sobbing to Bryant about missing out on the Visconti Homo Sapiens in silver, and he managed to get me another one. I'm thrilled! Thanks to Bryant, I will soon be waiting for this one in the mail. Now to just choose a nib size. Hmmmmm ...
