Waiting for a Cross Verve Platinum from Canada, that might come in the mail today. I think it's been long enough. I hope it's been long enough. 12 hours from Calgary to Houston is about right, isn't it?

I am expecting two packages from Italy to arrive soon - Montegrappa Ducale flexible F and Aurora 88P F. While the waiting is painful, today's arrival of MB 14 OF makes is a tad more bearable. :D

I'm pretty excited to be able to put my own 2 cents in here.

I just ordered a new Pelikan M800 Demonstrator, without etching and with an EF nib, from one of our members.

I can hardly wait... : )

Since I lost my Charcoal Lamy Safari I bought 2 new ones. One's red, the other is Charcoal Black again. Both are EF. I'm fishing I would have went with the "slower" USPS shipping from Lamy instead of FedEx Home, it probably would have gotten up here to Alaska quicker than the FedEx shipping which doesn't deliver on Mondays. doh.gif

2 Boehler pens from the early '50's.

Boehler was a brother in the Osmia firm who did not like Farber-Castell starting to take them over in the 1930's and split to start his own company.

I have four Osmia's, these are my first Boehler. You need the o umlaut, instead of the oe, to find Boehler.

I believe the word in English is Chased for the patterns in the plastic...in German it's guillochierte.

A year ago I never thought to be lucky enough to own any. Then I got one from 1929-32 for a fair price, another for a give away price and lately two others, that unexpectedly I won.

For once I am not complaining about my black pen collection.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

After over a dozen years of sort of black-listing the brand (never had good ink flow on the dozen or so I owned -- from a Philias to an original Blue Edson; all ultimately sold off...), finally giving Waterman a try again after borrowing a colleague's Carene for a week that's been writing fantastic: have an Edson (Black Diamond) and Carene (Black Seas) on the way -- expecting early in the week! Really psyched: first new pens in over 5 years...

Argh I am so frustrated. I was on the final stages of a very long transaction with a seller that comes highly recommended here on FPN. The transaction was extremely drawn out - 24 hours per email response, waiting for stock, lots of back and forth, not to mention no electronic means of payment so a check had to be sent. I am not complaining about this, it's how they want to do business. Well the pen arrives today. No damage on any of the boxes. I open it up and big crack on pen at rear. I know it was an honest mistake but surely the pen was inspected prior to shipment? The nib was swapped out for me as well so surely they held the pen to do so? Anyway, now it's another 3-4 days to ship it back, and another 3-4 days for a new one to come here. Actually make that 10-14 days for the seller to order a new one from Pelikan.

Way back in the When, some collage made an experiment; before cheap electronics, and put a gage in a package to see how much pressure a package took. The gage got broken.

Could well be your local postal system, broke your pen.

It's possible that the postal service broke my pen as it sat in it's gift box, inside a cardboard sleeve, surrounded by packing peanuts and inside a larger thick cardboard shipping box with none of these items showing trauma or wear. Yes, I supposed it is possible but it would be akin to the martial artist who can break the center brick in a large stack, leaving the others unscathed. It's possible but extremely difficult.
