My MB 144 from the MB Bethlehem Service Center. I went to the new KofP(mall) store with it about three weeks ago. The nib section (feed) cracked, and needed replacement!

The good news was it only cost $48 to fix.

Maybe THIS is why it's taking so long!

Not actually in the mail (more about that momentarily), but this pearl and black Duofold.

I sent vermiculus a pm about the pen yesterday, fully expecting it to have been already sold. My first fountain pen in 1997 was one of these beauties. I foolishly traded it two years later, so it would be nice to have another.

I received a reply pm this afternoon saying the pen was available and to pass along my location for the calculation of postage, which unfortunately would likely be significant from London across the pond to North Carolina. I remembered that my sister is arriving in London tomorrow, the final stop on an 11 day choir tour of Ireland, Wales and England.

I phoned her in Cardiff and she agreed to serve as courier. vermiculus agreed to deliver the pen to her hotel tomorrow, so when I visit my sister in Ohio in a little over a week I will receive my Duofold.

This is certainly the most interesting journey of any pen I have purchased!

My 1745's just arrived although I'm not yet home to pick get them. I just paid for a vintage Shaeffer from Ebay for $8 that might be something special. Of course, it might not be too.

A Visconti Opera Club (Typhoon Blue, fine nib) and a Rotring Initial from fellow FPNer Deca.

*shakes fist* I wanted that Opera Club but you got in before me! :P

I'm eagerly waiting for a Caran d'Ache Varius in silver & blue lacquer. Also waiting on Pam to email me saying that Visconti finally sent her the Art Nouveau I ordered a fortnight ago along with the new green opaline Opera Club. Too many pens, too much waiting and by far not enough time to use them all!

Oh and I'm also waiting on one of the L2Ks to return from its flexing retreat and likewise for one of my M400s.

In rotation:

Pelikan M400 with Pilot Iroshizuku Momiji

Nakaya Kuro-tame Desk Pen with Platinum Blue

Visconti Van Gogh Maxi with Aurora Black

An Aurora LE Tsugaru-nuri Talentum. Beautiful pen--fell in love with it the 1st time I laid eyes on one on fleabay.

Only 150 were made--and I think that I got #12.

It should come in the mail later this week............. :clap1:

Sadly, I'm still waiting on that Caran d'Ache Varius and it's making me so very very nervous...

Good news is that Pam did email me and I'll be waiting on the Art Nouveau and the Opera Club too!

Yesterday I received a vintage Conway Stewart 100 with a fine Duro 20 nib in excellent condition. Shortly I hope to receive a practically new CS Churchill in black with a Binder Music Nib.

I know that the old and new companies share little but the name, but two top of the line Conway Stewarts, made 50 odd years apart, strikes me as pretty cool.

I bought another Sheaffer Lady's Skripcert off Ebay today. This one's white with dark corduroy stripes. Kind of excited about it. From what I can tell, it looks to be in great shape (no dents). I'm already using one from '52 as my daily writer that is a deep brass color with black stripes. Dropped it a few times and have dented the end of the body. Somehow making it a little cooler.

A bunch of 3 just worked-on by a fellow FPNer, and which my daughter will deliver to me soon....a Cross Townsend, Pilot Custom 845 Urushi, and a Visconti Voyager.

Also Richard should be getting around soon to my late wife's Lady Sheaffer, and my Lamy 2000.

(and, a bit later, to my Visconti WSLE).
