Thanks once again! Any idea how much the lupe costs? Thought to ask first incase I 'kena chop'.

Hi Holga,

I was wandering around the area this evening and found the shop. Alas though, it was closed for the day but here's the contact information

Chan Kwong Kee (S) Pte Ltd

295 South Bridge Road

Singapore 058838

Tel/Hp : 62277944

Fax : 62271798

It's the second last shop on that row. Might drop by there on Sunday or Monday to try my luck. Many thanks tankahn for the recommendation and directions!

Cheers

EDITED TO ADD: Also - Heads up - Kenny from Books Actually has stopped stocking up on Rhodia E -pure journals and told me offhandedly that he will be stocking up on Field Notes in January 2009. In the mean time, if you really want to try Field Notes - they are available at Casual Poet for about $17-18 for set of 3.

Casual Poet

273 B New Bridge Road (Behind CK Department Store and the famous frogs leg stall)

3rd Floor

Tel: 62215022

I took the liberty of adding these stores into the Pen Shop Directory, but I have no information about them. If any of you would care to go to http://www.penshops.info/location/directory/sg/all and update those items with comments, ratings, descriptions, and brand selection, that would be very helpful for future people with the same question.

Thanks!

Edit to add: oh no, there are many more stores in the thread that I didn't see.

Hi there,

I don't think there is anyone who is stocking on Pilot Con-20 converters. Iroshizuku inks are not stock here either. The closest place I know of that stock these items is Pen Gallery in KL. Do note though, the Iroshizuku inks are somewhat higher than Ujuku and they quoted me US $11 for postage.

Cheers.

NBC at Kino Orchard may still have stocks for the CON-20. They brought in two recently, so perhaps you can call and check.

You can buy Pilot Parallel Pen from Kino. It comes with the Con-20 converters and 3 ink cartridges with steel balls. I prefer using the cartridges.

A friend of mine that lives in Bedok, but attends the University of Michigan, asked me a question that I hope someone can answer. Does any of the pen or stationery stores in Singapore, carry Clairefontaine notebooks and stationery? She is looking for their Triomphe line. If not, I have a feeling that when she goes back home next spring, she'll probably take a lot of it with her.

Hi there,

I have seen Clairefontaine notebooks around here but not the triomphe line around. Not alot of letter writing stationary about, I'm afraid - though I have kind of sated my need for good paper on Japanese writing tablets from Kinokuniya.

Hope it helps

Just as I suspected. My friend plans on ordering a large supply of Triomphe stationery to take back home with her. It's excellent paper.

Welcome in the world of fountain pens! :W2FPN:

I would believe there are many really huge and good pen stores there in Singapore.

There is also a big online store in there which deals with many known brands of pens the name is: "Pensinasia" , it is a very nice store.

Fountain Pen is for people who have a delicate taste in writing

Hi Ronnie,

You might also convey to her that if she was to drop by Kinokuniya, they do have stock up on two kinds of letter pads from Midori meant for fountain pens. I keep meaning to do a review but never got down to it. They cost roughly about $9-$11 SG per pad. And Paperchase 100 GSM laid paper/parchment paper can be found at borders.

Hi everyone, are Pilot Preras available in Singapore? Appreciate help! Thank you!

holgalee (few posts up) got NBC to bring in some. I haven't checked myself, but you could see if they're still available. Probably is cheaper to buy online though.

The vpen medium nib is sold at Mustafa (ground level, at pen counter but behind the sales staff) and Popular Bras Basah. I saw vpen in fine nib at ANBC kino about two to three weeks ago, below the display for their ergonomic pens and pencils (Platinum Preppys, Dr Grip). There's blue, pink and red if I'm not wrong.

I think they should still have stocks, do call to check. They don't know it's called Pilot Prera though! Tell them the pens are the $57.80 ones. :headsmack:

I checked some online shops and thought ANBC's pricing is the best. Though I did order two Preras from ebay seller Engeika, because I wanted white and yellow. Now they offer bidding instead of fixed price so you may be able to get one for less tha U$33, but that was after I ordered from them! No affiliation, just pleased with service. Really good communication, and it took three days for them to deliver to Spore, including weekend! And they sell the Pilot Iroshizuku inks too! BTW, if you don't want the CON-20 converter, can ask them to change to CON-50. Just top up a few dollars.

I double that Aesthetic Bay referral. Isn't Tay in Singapore? He's from Pensinasia and I find him knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with. He has an extensive choice of pens for you.

Thanks

For those trying out new journals. Go to Mustafa 4th level and look for Nightingale Journal. Look for their 'Handbook' line. Costs only $5.80. Its affordable and you can use your wettest pens on it. Bought enough to last me a few years.

Oh well. In case of failure you can always wring the paper to have a nice -albeit somewhat stale- cup of coffee back.

@Astronymus I could use cornstarch... Or i could distill it and make it very concentrated.

@lamarax That's what I used! (In reply to black coffee).. But the milk might not be good at all for paper.

Looking to sell huge lot of pretty much every Man 200 made - FP, BP, MP, one or two RBs. Does anyone have a suggestion for a bulk purhase house? Thanks - and hope this doesn't violate any rules.

Cappuccino should work. Frothy milk also helps to lubricate the nib. But it has to be made by a barista.

YOu might need to thicken the coffee with something. I admit I have no idea with what. But I'm pretty sure it would work.

    • FineFinerFinest 24 Oct 8:52
No replies required to my complaints about the Pelikan. A friend came to the rescue with some very magnification equipment - with the images thrown to a latge high res screen. Technology is a wonderful thing. Thanks to Mercian for the reply. I had been using the same paper & ink for sometime when the "singing" started. I have a theory but no proof that nibs get damaged when capping the pen. 👍
    • Mercian 22 Oct 22:28
@FineFinerFinest: sometimes nib-'singing' can be lessened - or even cured - by changing the ink that one is putting through the pen, or the paper that one is using. N.b. *sometimes*. Good luck

I'm not expecting any replies to my question about the singing Pelikan nib. It seems, from reading the background, that I am not alone. It's a nice pen. It's such a pity Pelikan can't make decent nibs. I have occasionally met users who tell me how wonderful their Pelikan nib is. I've spent enough money to know that not everyone has this experience. I've worked on nibs occasionally over forty years with great success. This one has me beaten. I won't be buying any more Pelikan pens. 👎
    • FineFinerFinest 21 Oct 4:27
I've had a Pelikan M805 for a couple of years now and cannot get the nib to write without singing. I've worked on dozens of nibs with great success. Ny suggestion about what's going wrong? 😑

Hello all - New here. My Art studies have spilled me into the ft pen world where I am happily submerged and floating! I'm looking to repair some cheap pens that are starving for ink yet filled, and eventually get new nibs; and development of repair skills (an even longer learning curve than my art studies - lol). I have several Parker Roller Ball & Fiber Tip refills in the original packaging. Where and how do I sell them? The couple that I've opened the ink still flowed when put to paper. Also if a pen would take the foller ball refill then it should take the fiber tip as well? Anyway it's been awhile and I'm want to take my message collection beyond the few pieces that I have... Meaning I don't have a Parker these refills will fit in 🙄
    • RegDiggins 23 July 12:40
Recently was lucky enough to buy a pristine example of the CF crocodile ball with the gold plating. Then of course I faced the same problem we all have over the years ,of trying to find e refill. Fortunately I discovered one here in the U.K. I wonder if there are other sources which exist in other countries, by the way they were not cheap pen

Hi, I'm new to this forum and was wondering where is the best place to sell a Montblanc ballpoint pen? Are ballpoints allowed here? It's a beautiful pen that deserves a great listing. Thanks.

I havent logged in here for a while. I have moved and when I try to change my location on my profile, when I go to save it, it sais 'page not found' and that I do not have authority to change that.
