Fountain Pens in Singapore

Hmm, in regards to the difference between the M250 and the M215, I have looked around and the M215 is actually selling cheaper than the M250.

Probably due to the different Nibs? M250 being the Gold nib similar to M400 whereas the M215 is just Steel?

SINGAPORE AIRPORT PEN SHOP. Does anyone have the website link to the Pen Kiosk in the terminal at Singapore. They have a great selection of pens there at not too high prices. I never had the time to ask for it when last in transit. Bryan

Hi Steven,

Welcome to the FPN!

I don't know about Singapore, but here in Australia they are available from most good newsagents, office supply stores and campus bookshops. Perhaps one of our Singaporean FPNers can comment?

If you can't find them there, you may have to resort to the Internet.

However, look around, because you may be able to find a Hero 329 (old style) pen for a similar price (about $5 AU). I think these are much nicer than the V-Pen, and much easier to re-fill.

I find the V-Pen ink flows too freely and feathers and bleeds through on most papers, especially the kind that impecunious students can afford to buy...

SINGAPORE AIRPORT TERMINAL PEN SHOP/ does anyone have the website or email address of the Kiosk in Singapore airport which sells Fountain pens/ I would appreciate that link if someone has it,thanks. Bryan

Hmm, I saw a Pelikan M400 at artfriends today going for $130. Is it a steal? Should I get it?

That's the old style pre 1997 M400.

It comes with a single tone 14k nib instead of the duotone nib of the current model.

And there are less trimmings on the barrel.

Apart from that it's the same pen.

If you don't mind the cosmetic difference it's a good price to buy.

Ask a friend who is an Artfriend member to buy for you and you can get 10% discount.

Oic, Yea i noticed it has a single tone nib. Anyone an art friend member here? haha

They don't have any fines left, only medium and broad. If you don't like wide-writing nibs, it may not be the pen for you. Alternatively Mustafa has old-style M600s with the two-tone nib for $170. Although you could try to see if Pelikan Singapore would swap the nib for you.

Looking to exchange ink samples! Available: Noodler's Bulletproof Black, Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses, Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher, Noodler's Operation Overlord Orange

Has anyone contacted Pelikan Singapore or Malaysia for help before? What's the customer service like I wonder? I emailed the Malaysia branch and never heard from them.

I have also tried emailing Pelikan Singapore about a nib swap, but didn't get a reply. Have heard they're pretty good if you visit them in person.

Just went to Fook Hing this afternoon, saw the FPs there, the Parker Capless is going for $188 during this period till 30th April, very unique design I must say. Tried several Sailor FP after Steve brought them out and inked them for me, nice !! Also tried the 21k carat nibs and the "Sai-bi Togi" nib, this is by far the finest nib you can ever write with !!

BTW, does anyone knows who has the largest range of the Pelikan M series? Fook Hing has some ...M215, M600, M1000...etc

Sheaffer Prelude

LAMY Safari Charcoal

Vintage Parker Vacuumatic Gold Pearl Celluloid

Hero 336 (Black, Burgundy, Green)

Pilot Tank (Teal eyedropper)

Pilot Superior (Teal Squeezer)

Pilot Birdie (White/Red)

Does the $188 offer includes the blue and black carbonesque as well ?

Thinking of getting one if it's at $188

Guys if you are looking for the Sailor Ink Pen, Daiso at IMM now has the one with a translucent barrel.

It's almost like a demonstrator.

To get a Sailor pseudo demonstrator with a steel nib at $2 is not bad at all.

Yes, Daiso stocks Sailor carts. They're not marked as "Jentle" ink though.

Well, thanks everybody, Gotten myself a M600, and I'm much thankful to everyone here..

Although my handwritting is extremely horrid, I guess it would take lots of practice to have some saving grace left

Bought the Sailor 1911 with 14K from Fook Hing last week. They are having 30% off on Sailor pens now.

Nib smoother than the Pilot VP.
