Oh, and if I might add I'd just like your two cents. Which of the two colors (solid) is considered rarer: pink or violet? Or is it just a matter of preference?

I've seen several pink NN pens, but never a violet version in the flesh.

Thanks! Always wondered about that. Yet another lesson for me in "if you see it and you like it, don't hesitate."

By the way, the thumbnail photo you use is wonderful.

Thanks! That photo was a complete surprise when I took it back in March.

I just ordered my first NN for Rs. 399 ($6.49) from here. (no affiliation) The website has no pictures, so it might help to go to this link to decide which colour you want. Happy buying! :)

I like the No Nonsense. It is an efficient and reliable fountain pen. That it is inexpensive, made it

popular for advertising, etc. British Airways, Basketballs, and other neat themes. I also bought

up a couple of dozen "discontinued" PINK ones. It is an ugly pink, but nobody complains about

the performance. Kept two for myself.

Going through some old boxes today, I discovered a No Nonsense fountain that I bought in the 1980s. Because of my lack of organization and discipline back then (I'm perfect now) the pen had been set aside for 30 years. It got a quick warm-water flush and a new cartridge. It's been writing and doodling flawlessly all day. It's burgundy with some wimpy marbling and its original medium nib that produces a line that's a bit broad for a medium. The cap, which screws on (a wise choice for active people) has a gold band and clip. It posts simply and comfortably by friction and gravity. The name "No Nonsense" dismisses extravagance in a writing tool (I sometimes disagree) yet has attained a functional elegance of its own in achieving its purpose.

One can do a *lot* worse than a No Nonsense pen. Wish I still had all the ones I lost in grade school.

I have a few of these (all the old style incuding ones with blue and green marbling). Great and reliable pens . Usually have at least one inked and ready for use on my desk.

Guys, how do I replace a nib in one of these pens? I just got one, it appears to have been part of a 70s company giveaway thing, but I don't like the medium nib. Any ideas?

I've always just switched the entire section around, including the nib and feed. I am not sure if the nibs are easily removable from the sections.
