Does Ellis Island Blue actually have any blue?

I love the Ellis Island but agree it has a little slower flow, still it is beautiful and a great non-black/black. Excellent scan btw.

A bit late here :headsmack: ...but I just received my bottle of EI yesterday along with a pen order from FPH...my ink is black with no blue at all (at least not what my eyes can see) but I like the not-so-black tone.. I did not shake my bottle, and if shaking is what is required to get the ink to become a blue-black, so does it mean that as I use up the content of the bottle the ink becomes progressively bluish with every fill?

It is not a blue-black ink in the conventional sense. I would call it a Black, Blue-Black. I have a bottle that is 18-24 months old that I just happened to be using in a pen currently. So I did the paper chromatography from the pen which is likely a bit more concentrated from evaporation since I filled it, and from bottle itself.

Hard to miss the blue now, eh? (You can click for higher res image).

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.
