Pelikan 4001 Brilliant-Red

Well, I don't "hate" any fountain pen and I don't "hate" any ink.

There are varying degrees of goodness however ...

 

I actually bought a bottle of Pelikan 4001 red after reading this review ... and I don't mind it at all.

I do agree it could be aptly renamed Pelikan 4001 Tizer-Mercurochrome though.

I bought it today because where I live, you have a choice of Pelikan black, blue-black or this truly unpleasant red. I mixed 3.5 converter or 56 drops of noodlers black in this bottle of red and got this really nice cherry color that I love (it has a tad bit more of red in person). I'm using it on a cheap Jinhao pen for now, we'll see how it behaves.
