Yes, the designs are great. Yes, they are expensive. Since I don't like the paper, I am going to get a quart of padding glue and make a few pads with good paper. Probably would not be too hard to go the next step and print the pattern. JD

They are swell. If you watch their online store for sales you can do much better than the stratospheric retail list.

To follow up. I was going to do some reviews. I have attached a comparison between Strathmore 100% Cotton Levenger and Strathmore Writing. You can see the line width is acutally about double the width of the Strathmore which is the width of the pen. Essentially, it is like writing with a pen with at least one size larger nib. While smooth it vacuums the ink out of a pen and fuzzes up your writing. Mine needs all the help it can get.
