Levenger LONG Cartridges

I noticed on the Levenger site that they no longer have Black, Amethyst or Cobalt Blue available in the LONG cartridges--the ones with one end that is Parker-compatible and one end that is long-international compatible (sort of Waterman type).

Since these cartridges do NOT fit in their True Writer pens, I am going to assume that they are eventually going to discontinue stocking the long cartridges. I called Levenger, and the guy on the phone didn't know about any discontinuation, but----do you think the low-level phone people get the word all the time?

If they are not planning to discontinue, then why is their color choice getting progressively restricted? And why are they selling ONLY THE LONG CARTRIDGES at the fire-sale price of $2.95/box? (as opposed to the regular $10). The standard (short) cartridges are still going for full price.

No, it smells to me like they're getting out of the long cartridge business. That's terrible, because they are the only company I know that sells the Parker-style cartridges in colors besides black or blue.

I've ordered a bunch of Gemstone Green, Red and Cocoa cartridges in fear of this discontinuation. 70 boxes total!

Anyone else share my concern and planning to stock up as well?

This pattern has happened with other fountain pen inks that have not reappeared there (non-Levenger brands). They dumped their Pelikan long international carts and their Pilot/Namiki carts that way in recent years.

I also think it likely they're being discontinued, and I have also stocked up. Of course, stocking up to me means 2 boxes each of cardinal, gemstone green, amethyst, and cocoa.

I like your style, Kenny... Wow... Any takers on how long it'll take Kenny to use up all those 70 boxes? ;)

I purchased Cocoa and Amethyst -- though I'm not particularly jazzed by their performance. They have a tendency to stick to the cartridge, and I often have to tap the cartridge to get the ink flowing again. Also, I've come to find that the fit (in various pens, including the Parkers) is a bit dodgy.

Talking about fountain pens is like dancing about architecture.

Probably forever!

I got these for use in my Parkers, but for some reason, these don't "seat" easily in my Parker 45s. However, they fit very well in my Parker 100s. I want something else besides blue and black for my Parkers. At work, due to logistics of where and how I work (no one office/desk to keep ink at), cartridges are the most practical option.

If some other company started producing Parker style cartridges with a variety of colors, I wouldn't have bought this huge supply.

That's strange - I use them in my True Writers all of the time and haven't had a problem with fit, flow, etc. I bought several boxes at the sale price, too, but they fit all of my TWs without a problem (using the international end of course). What is the issue with fit in the TWs?

My understanding is that they are being discontinued.

I use Levenger's long carts in my Bexleys: again, travel frequently and these give me a longer write. When not on the road, I normally will refill 'em. I find that to be very handy.

I purchased the black, cocoa, and amethyst as well.
