A user's classification of fountain pens, inks, and paper.

The Faber skips because of the nib. Neither tha paper nor the ink had to do with it. I have to send it for maintenance; it is an oximoron, being new, but here we are...

By comparison, the Stipula writes smoothly each time. Still, it has a standard nib, rather than my beloved Italic. Another one bites the maintenance desk... Strike two. :crybaby:

Luca,

As a novice, this is great info. While I understand that in the end it all comes down to personal preference etc., it is interesting to see the comparison in numbers, quality, and...price (oh so important!).

Your review is impressive enough for me to be intrigued by your results. There goes the quest for a Stipula Etruria :-)

Thank you,

Bart

In this update, the new (2008) Pelikan 800.

By comparison with both GvFC and Stipula, I would grade their nib as follows:

GvFC, Pelikan: A+ (fine version)

Stipula: A-- (skips, baby's bottom, on stub version)
