I hope you enjoy these blingy shots of what I consider the most beautiful nib on the planet...

Even the switch-filler cover is gold-plated...

I am generally allergic to gold but I forgive Pilot on this one.

Happy New Year!

Wow!

Very nice, no, stunning looking pen! And great photographs, too!

I really like how the cap and clip follow the same pattern and flow as the nib. Beautiful, and very well captured!

Warm regards, Wim

Wow...these are some nice photos.

The Pilot Super Ultra 500, is one of my favorite pens. Pilot made a whole spectrum of the Super line. The 500 was at the top of the line. There was a 500 with a all gold cap, and I've seen a few 500's in other colors like burgundy and dove gray, but these are very rare. In the 1970's, Pilot made a replica of the 500. It looks nearly identical to the original, except for the filling system. Here below are some of the other Pilot Supers:

Going from right to left:

Pen #1 Pilot Super 50L This has the dart nib and the switch filler

Pen #2 Pilot Super 100 Fingernail Nib and switch filler

Pen #3 Pilot Super 150 Fingernail nib and switch filler, just slightly larger than the 100

Pen #4 Pilot Super 200 (note that this is one of the first year pens with the 3 section rings, it also has the older Pilot R-pen imprint.

Pen #5 Pilot Super 300 (same as the 200 except it has a gold filled cap)

Pen #6 Pilot Super 200G Twist button filler

Pen #7 Pilot Super 500G Twist button Filler

Pen #8 & #9 Pilot Super Ultra 200 Twist button filler

Pen #10, #11 & #12 Pilot Super Ultra 500 Switch fillers

Stay well

Thank you for the great photos! Can you tell us when these models were made?

Wow !! A work of art. Rather like the pen version of the supersonic plane Concorde. Can I get one in London UK ????

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
