Parker Quink Blue Black

I am a committed Blue/Black person. That was what my father used (Skrip), and ever since, I've thought that was what fountain pen ink SHOULD look like. I like the Quink Blue/Black, although I will admit to pouring a little bit of Quink Permanent Black into a bottle to "goose" the color a little darker than the way it comes out of the box. Other than that nudge, I can't say more about the reliability of this ink in terms of how well it works with the pen and lasts over time. I'm not sure, since Sanford owns both Parker and Waterman, how much this differs from the Waterman Blue/Black (I've tried both and really can't tell much difference), but wouldn't be surprised if Sanford is pretty much putting the same stuff into two bottles.

As I've opined elsewhere, I fear that Sanford "likes" Waterman more so than they do Parker as their flagship brand. However, as Parker's market penetration is so much deeper than Waterman's (not just in fountain pens, but ballpoints too), I suspect Sanford needs this brand "duality" to continue for a while.

i got tired of looking at cross royal blue after i used it, the tone is too pale..

Apparently I live in an "ink challenged" city. <img src="https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crybaby.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":crybaby:" border="0" alt="crybaby.gif" />

Can relate to that - I can buy any kind of bottled ink I want in Winnipeg, as long as what I want is Quink Blue, Quink Black, or Quink Blue-Black.

Good thing that I like the Blue-Black. I love the colour and use it daily. Only beef I have with it is the complete and utter lack of anything like water resistance. You even get it near water, it gives up and disappears.

Cheers

Ken

That color is not the same Parker Blue-Black I had been using a couple years ago. I used to hate that ink, because it was washed, and tended to change its color after dried. I wait Parker has changed to a better new recipe.
