Lamy Al-Star modification

I removed the wee ball I had placed in the Lamy Z-25 convertor and put in a small spring. The wee ball had sometimes obstructed the hole in the rubber gasket at the section end of the convertor when expelling ink. The assembly photo above shows how it all goes together (and how to take it apart).

The bit of spring came from Ace Hardware in Delray Beach. At the end of the spring, where it had been cut off, I bent the metal to cover a diameter, which prevents a spring of this size (3/16-ths inch O.D.) from fouling the recess of the plunger and getting stuck. Note that the assembly photo has the spring oriented improperly -- the bent bit of spring should be plunger end not section end.

This is a good idea. I noticed that MB uses the spring.
