Today, I've seen a client using a Parker Falcon. Beginning to speak with him, he told me that he also has a 75 and a few others ..... But when he saw my Visconti Homo Sapiens, he told me he wants the same .......

Why do you think I'm here? :D I found the pen he recommended (Pilot Metropolitan) which seems like a decent starter. I started with the Medium nib (because it was cheaper) and liked how it wrote but wasn't all that happy with it ultimately. So I decided to get the same pen with the Fine nib which came this weekend. And now I'm super happy with it! It may be my new favorite pen. :)

Haha! :D

If I had the money, maybe. For now I'm going to enjoy my pen, and experiment a bit with inks. I'll have to think long and hard about what pen to get next. Maybe for my birthday in November.

I can't remember meeting or knowing someone else who uses fountain pens. I'm not sure if that means they don't or if I just haven't noticed it (or maybe never had a chance to notice).

I'm sure I've seen someone over the years using a fountain pen, but I can't recall anyone. Never in my current daily life, other than my wife.

Franklin-Christoph, Italix, and Pilot pens are the best!
Iroshizuku, Diamine, and Waterman inks are my favorites!

Apica, Rhodia, and Clairefontaine make great paper!

About 15 years, ago, a former colleague introduced me to FPs. At the time, he was acquiring 2-5 pens per month, and had them delivered to the office. So for a few years, I saw alot of FPs. Since he left the firm, I have not seen anyone else who uses a FP.

Buy a pack or several of Pilot Varsities/V Pens or Petit1s and hand them out for free. Spread the addiction.

The first sample is always free.

Just for the sake of curiosity, I figured out the percentage of daily FP users in the company I work for.

Out of 60 employees, 12% are daily FP users.

In 10 years of being an accountant at two previous firms I'd only come accross one person who used FP, I've been with my current firm for around 4 months and have already come accross 2 clients who regularly use them as a daily writer...

Now just to convince the boss to fund my next pen.........

Spotted a Rhodia pad sticking out of someone's chef coat at work the other day and noted the name tag. Asked him about it the next time I saw him and it turns out he uses a Safari. I gave him some links, including here, will have to see if he pops up.

Have previously mentioned that I see them regularl, which is quite weird given how little they're generally used in this country. So far this week, (Wed evening), I've been in 3 client meetings where someone (other than me) has been using a fountain pen.

Not only have I never come across a fountain pen user outside of a pen show, it sometimes feels like I'm the only one in a 150 mile radius.

+1 - My use of a fountain pen never fails to elicit a response, always pleasant, usually sentimental. The teller at my bank made a comment which tells me that it's unusual enough to be remarkable among the scores of customers she sees every day.
