Herbin Violette Pensee

Stunning across the board: your review, your handwriting, and the ink! I've been having my eye on this one and this review was just perfect. Thank you, Ann!

I know Pendemonium has been out for some time. I'll keep checking back and other sites as well :)

I bought the ink, before the rise in price and in anticipation of buying a perfect matching pen in celluloid.

Ann, Thanks to your first class rewiew the guesswork to match pen and ink is over.

When finances permit, a Taccia or a CS in purple will be added to the collection.

It may be a while.

PS:Your handwriting is Wow!

I finally got my ink plus Crane's 32lb ecru cotton paper. Lovely stuff, both.

The only complaint is the miniscule size of the ink bottle and given the price I would want to use every drop. I'm going to have to get a Danitrio ED now so that I can suck up every last drop of Herbin. BTW is costs $NZ 21.00 = $US14.50 bottle ouch..

Thanks Ann for the great review.

Thanks, to all...I'm glad many found the review helpful.

Gary, if you can get your hands on a syringe (if you don't alreday have one), that will help you get every last drop of ink for use.

Best, Ann

I'm not a fan of purple on anything but I do use Violette Pensee. It has a really nice old fashioned feel to it. Reminds me of iodine...

Ann - your handwriting is wonderful. So clear and stylish.

Hi,

Or a Snorkel pen, you could go without the syringe. :)

Anyway, I MUST get a bottle soon.

Thank you for such a detailed review! I think this ink must now be on my list. It's lovely.

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

Please use only my FPN name "Gran" in your posts. Thanks very much!

I, like so many others posting on this review, am in awe at your handwriting. It's so balanced and readable and really does show the ink to great advantage. Thank you for using the various pens to show the different characteristics of this color by Herbin. Wish I were close to St. Louis to take writing lessons from you!

This is still my most used Violet/Purple ink. :) Yes, it is truly lovely!

Thanks for the kind words, dannyboy. I'm afraid my more recent reviews don't include the use of various pens. Makes for more pen cleaning than I have time for!

Excellent review Ann. I will add it to my list of purchases. Thank you for your time and effort.

I simply must join the praising choir. The ink is lovely and the comparison between so many nibs in your beautiful handwriting, Ann, is extraordinary. Thanks for reviving this review.

This ink had been recommended to me as a shading ink. I have read the two reviews, and no one mentions shading or if so only one person out of 6 pages in both reviews. I saw some shading in this review but in normal pens didn't notice much...perhaps there was not a width of broad, medium and narrow?

I'll then have to mark this down as will change color with wet writers but as a minimum shading ink, unless corrected.

I seem to have gotten shading with a Platinum Balance
