Corrosion - Show your examples

I ran into one like that at an antique dealer in Renton. Besides the fact that it was a severely bent banana pen, the guy had it listed as a 14K nib. Hm, unusual for a 14K nib to show silver where it is worn, isn't it? I showed him where the top of the "plate" was just barely visable under the section. Not completely buried, but almost.

People were more honest and scrupulous in those days weren't they? :o

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

Always looking for pens by Baird-North, Charles Ingersoll, and nibs marked "CHI"

Here's mine :D Trim ring of a Waterman Laureat (?). And this is a cartridge filler, so no issue with wiping the trim after a bottle refill. I think most of that trim corrosion happens in the cap, between ink crawling and vapors.

As my Waterman Executive has the same section, it has the same problem. The 18k nib is great, but the trim ring plating was eaten and the feed became leaky by ink. :(
