Private Reserve Black Cherry

Mine definitely looks like the original poster's review. I bought mine about a year ago from Pendemonium, and had it scented with their cherry scent. Alas, it appears they don't offer that scent any longer, but I can say it makes for a brilliant experience with this ink. Really makes it come to life!

Love this ink. Very close on my Clairefontaine paper to Waterman Havana brown.

every time i use this ink i think i'm writing with prune juice. that's not necessarily bad, it's just an observation.

On my work monitor the original scan looks just like my PR Black Cherry, I like the colour of JDlugosz's sample, but Black Cherry it ain't!

I am not a fan of super-saturated inks (I believe that gel pens are for that) so I diluted my Black Cherry 4:1 to get more shading. This was partially successful as regards the shading (it certainly gave me enough shading to be interesting) and only very slightly changed the colour, lightening it a little.

All in all a very nice ink, although I prefer Diamine Oxblood.

I have PR's Black Cherry and have used it since my earlier days with FPN. Haven't found any drying difficulties, but perhaps it's the paper that determines how long it would take to dry. I like the color enough that, when this bottle is empty, I'll purchase another. None of my pens have had any issues with it.
