Thanks for the review.

As a long time Parker fan I had shied away from this model, partly because of rumours of feed problems and partly because it wasn't a 51.

I finally bit and bought a new XF Diamond Blue for $99 that is on the way now. Hopefully my experience will more closely mirror yours than the others that have had problems with these pens!

Great review - thanks.

I recently received a blue P100 stub from M. Lewertowski and am, generally, very pleased with it.

The only criticism I would make is that when capped the cap has a little wobble to it. This is not much to complain about I know. However; when the asking price is that of a high quality luxury item, I wonder that the designers couldn't have eliminated this small annoyance before production. After all, they had the 51 to study and in this regard the 51 is perfect and had been so for 30 years or more. A backward step one might think.

When I am asked why I love FPs by puzzled friends one reason I put forward is quality of design and craftsmanship. If asked by these friends for an example of a properly fitted cap I would not quote the P100.

I think that, the once great, Parker is gradually 'losing it' and, by the way, that the absence of a piston filler from their range and that of Waterman is losing them both market-share.

Cheers Deauville! I went through the old box of photos and found (and have re-linked) the missing ones (from the days when I was really just beginning to experiment with pen photography).

Great review, IANAN. I had missed this one. I bought a Parker 100 for my stepfather, who is a long time Parker 51 user. He definitely likes it, but I think his heart will always belong to the 51, which has been with him since new back in the early 1950's. The 100 I chose for him was the silver colored one with the darker silver brushed metal cap. But I really like the color scheme of this one you've got. I'll have to keep an eye out for a used 100 in the future. :)
