Hello, This is my first time on the boards. They have been a great source of information for me , sellling fountain pens on Ebay. For this, I thank you.

Can you identify this pen ? It is marked 14K on the cap. Is the entire pen 14K solid gold ? I have added the information I think is correct on the picture.

I may have resized picture too small.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, MrsA

I can not identify the pen from the photo but if it is stamped 14K the whole pen should be gold.

The newer Watermans I have seen have French hallmarks.

Thank you for your help.

I have added another set of pictures. Hope these show up better.

I would like to know the specific model, if anyone can help.

Thank you in advance, MrsA

The pen is a Waterman's Emblem Pen, made sometime between about 1946 and 1950. The Emblem Pen was the successor to the Hundred Year Pen, after the U.S. Federal Trade Commission forbade long-term warranties except under specific conditions.

The cap and barrel are solid gold; the clip and lever may or may not be solid.

If this pen is for sale, I am seriously interested in purchasing it.

Although not an expert on these pens, I do have one concern.

I agree that if the cap is marked 14k, then it indeed should be solid gold. However if the barrel is solid gold, shouldn't that be marked 14k as well?

Looking at the excellent photos, the cap looks really great but... looking at the barrel -

er... isn't that a spot of brassing at the end?

Hello,

The picture is not as clear as I would have hoped.

The pen shows no brassing.

The pen is in fabulous condition.

Thank you for your question, MrsA
