Hi Sonia,

I have the exact same pen and I am wondering... when you are posting the cap (screwing it on to the back of the pen), do you feel several little clicks as the cap turns and then one final click as the nib locks? I am feeling many little clicks as I turn the cap and I was wondering if this was a problem, so I can all MB service before something breaks. :headsmack: :(

Loving Mont Blanc and everything fountain pen!!!!!!!!

Hi Sonia,

Nope, Siddhart (sorry if I am misspelling your name!) no little clicks. Now, the cap screws so tight to the blind cap (or the blind cap is so loose) that many times when I uncap the pen, the blind cap is caught in it.

I would recommend you to sent this pen to fix. Now, I had something like this before when I made the mistake (as I wrote in the article) of soaking the entire pen. The mechanism rusted. At MB they were so nice to fix it for I guess less than $50, maybe $32 - for MY mistake.

I have two wonderful boheme retractable:

the first is a black stone one with platinum accents, the other one is the one I prefer : the mytical Boheme Marron.

That pen is made with rose gold accents and has a cool citrine stone on the clip!

What a cool pen!!!!

One of the best pen ever made!

Buy it... I own it. You won't regret it! It's a great pen and would make a nice introduction to Montblanc for you!

Of course, I'd say buy the 145 before you buy this...

a nice pocket pen. I just wish i was working. lol

In the days gone by, people believed that if a person touched an object, that object would form a bond with a part of their soul.

Today such a thought seems almost absurd....Until you enter the realm of Montblanc's master craftsmen.

It's an old thread perhaps, but still a very popular design. Not only the Montblanc, but the Crocodile Outré homage from China.

The Outré does not have a retractable nib and is a cartridge/converter pen -- which some of my customers that have both pens actually prefer! It's a bit less expensive as well.

Several years later I will add that in spite of loving the Bohème nib, the pen has come out to be everything you would hate on a MB: faulty mechanism of the cap, and the resin.... DO NOT EVER, EVER put it in a pocket retracted... the little devil will somehow (through gravity) stick out the nib and hemorrhage its ink in your pocket. Then, the worst: I'm extremely careful with my pens, barely do they jump out of my hands... this one bungee-jumped and landed cracking the precious resin.

I've had much, much better experience with the non-retractable one and I only payed USD150 on a closeout. I DO love this pen.

I am going to buy my first MB next month and today I visited a store. I am trying to decide about Boheme Rose and 145 and stumbled upon your comment. Thanks.
