FPN Dumas Tulipe Noire Water Test

Recommended Posts

This ink is not being sold as waterproof. However there has been a request to do a water test anyway. (Yeah, the request was a while ago  ) I still think that the ink scans more purple than it actually is in person. The post 10 minute soak sample is indeed red.

Water splashed on paper after drying for over an hour (note that the blue on the top is from another ink that was being tested at the same time):

Soaked in water for 10 minutes - no agitation (I'm a wimp):

I would have thought he slipped some bulletproof black in there, but it appears he hasn't! I guess he got Nightshade and Sequoia without any Black, also...

My results exactly -- a reddish-blue smudge and a red remnant. At least it doesn't vanish entirely!

I would guess that it will stain celluloid and many plastics, just like any other red ink -- I don't plan to use it in anything with a visulated section.

Very nice ink for a burgundy, but I will probably mix it with black most of the time.
