What is difference between Montblanc Meisterstuck LeGrand Fountain Pens - 149 and 146

The regular MB 146 LeGrand is a piston filler and has an ink window.

149 is just '149'. Not Diplomat.

MB started calling them Diplomats, but then lost a law suit to Diplomat company, a fairly old gernan pen maker in their own right, and dropped the name.

 

 

and BTW, the Traveller is 147 not 146/

depending on your age I guessing your grandfather could be anywhere from 60 up to.. if indeed he's an older gentleman I think he would find the larger 149 to be more comfortable to grip.

Here in Nottingham we do have a Montblanc dealer or two. Try Pensense in the city - just off Old Market Square at the bottom of King Street, or venture out to Loughborough to Wheelers Luxury Gifts (not been there myself but they have good mail order site).
