Just cleaned this one up for a potential sale/trade.

Thought I'd share.

I didn't manage to get any decent lighting though.

What kind of cap on that?

First years are always special.

It is a first year cap - gold filled cap with gold filled clip. Pattern is groups of 4 lines and a space, all around the cap, with no cap band. Gold content at bottom of cap. Has rectangle for engraving, framed by double lines at the back of the cap.

This came to me with a grey pearl jewel.

That is the most beautiful 51 I have ever seen.

Hi, there is no sign of an imprint in the blind cap, it either never had one or it was lightly stamped and has since been polished away following filler restoration / blind cap and barrel alignment adjustments.

I received this pen in this condition, the aluminium blind cap jewel is genuine, as is the rest of the pen, I can only assume the blind cap is also genuine 1st year with the imprint worn away. It has near perfect colour match with the barrel and hood.

The cap jewel in not aluminium, it is a grey pearl jewel which is not uncommon in late 41 production caps.

Refer http://www.parker51.com/PenCaps.5.html the second cap down matches this cap.

With out the imprint, this is a just short of a collector piece and more a user pen, a nice one at that.

This is the same model of 1st year and cap but with the blind cap imprint and a war time engraving on the barrel.
