Hello from Nottingham England.

Hello to the forum. 
My name is Alan and from the title I clearly live in Nottingham. 

I belong to various forums that involve my other interests such as film cameras, vintage leather jackets (ww2 type era), vintage watches etc and go by the name of Persimmon, so I thought I would continue with that tradition. 

I have used and collected vintage fountain pens over the years ( other interests dominate for a while - use up all my money collecting !! ) and I return.

Currently I have a mixture of German, USA, Danish and UK pens of which the ones I use most of the time include a Eversharp Skyline, Sheaffer Snorkel, Parker 51 and Montblanc’s 149, 216 and 12. 

The Danish 216 has such an enjoyable flexible nib that this is my favourite to write with. 

Of course I have nothing in comparison to serious collectors but I have enough pens to enjoy the hobby. 
However when I said enough …. I don’t really mean ENOUGH !! 

I have sourced my pens through Etsy and EBay and I notice from posting here that I have purchased from at least one member ( Speerbob ) here.

I have a wide collection of fountain pen books including most of the Lambrou books and I enjoy the research and history side as much as writing. 

As for what’s missing - I would like to get a vintage Coral coloured pen - (everything at the moment just seems to be solid blacks, claret and gold cap, black with gold cap etc etc. )

 

Perhaps a Parker Duofold or  a Montblanc Danish model or a Penol Danish model come to mind. 
 

Equally it would good to hear from anyone local to my location. 

I hope to learn from various fellow members so if I ask any dumb newbie questions please bear with me !
