Onoto Dr’s Pen - plunger version?

I was talking to a friend who says she has a modern Onoto Drs pen with a plunger filling system. I’ve looked online and can’t see this combination. Did modern Onoto make a Drs pen with a plunger or was that just wistful thinking?

Onoto make a doctors pen, available at Cult pens but the only one I have seen is cc, a plunger filler upgrade is available

Why do doctors need a special pen? Does it make their hand-writing more legible?

Originally it may have been down to ink capacity because they wrote notes and prescriptions all day but it might just because they were monied and wanted some form of differentiation such as Doctors Coupe, a conventional car but with an extra compartment for medical requisites.

 

I have an assistant who calls my handwriting 'doctors handwriting', basically anything cursive. it is disappointing how many young people in my office can only read print.
