Visconti cap leaks (on Van Gogh & Rembrandt models

Has anyone else experienced the following with the above models? I have three such pens and they all exhibit the same irritating problem: a near constant seepage of ink into the blind cap inside the cap. Almost as soon as the pens are capped they begin to seep/leak internally until the cartridge or converter (source) is drained. Since all three pens exhibit the same problem I’m assuming it’s a design issue. Have others experienced this issue and, if so, what do you suggest can be done about it? The metal hardware inside of one of the pens suffered more leakage than the others and is now rusted/corroded to the point that the cap no longer seats (clicks in place) properly. I don’t know if the insides of the cap can be replaced or not. Anyway, I was interested in hearing what others might have to say about this curious issue. I have certainly experienced similar leaks but never to this extent and none of them resulted in damage. Only with these pens and how they have leaked in the way that they have have I fully understood the nature of the problem. That is that the very edge of the nib section communicates directly with the blind cap housing in a way that ink is thereby drawn out. What I think is happening is that some ink flows from the seam of the nib section and the feed when it rests against the cap and then dries, prompting more ink to pull forward until the reservoir is entirely empty. Thus by the end of that ebb and flow process one can ultimately find all the ink dried inside the cap. The first time I tried to clean one of these caps out it took forever, as there was a very think layer of dried ink that I had to keep working away at until it was all gone. Anyway, thanks everyone for your time and attention.

Are you talking about ink seeping into the inner cap inside the cap? (The blind cap is the cap on the end of the barrel). In my case, one of my Viscontis had a bad feed, and this would cause ink to drip into the cap until the pen was completely empty. I wonder if this is part of the situation you are experiencing.

I would send them, especially the one that does not cap properly for repair. Explain that it happens when the pen is filled with ink and to make sure to test it with ink. Also tell them that one of them does not cap anymore. The more descriptive the better, because they sent my pen right back without fixing it. I had to get the parts from someone else and fix it myself.

Stolen: Aurora Optima Demonstrator Red ends Medium nib. Serial number 1216 and Aurora 98 Cartridge/Converter Black bark finish (Archivi Storici) with gold cap. Reward if found. Please contact me if you have seen these pens.

Please send vial orders and other messages to fpninkvials funny-round-mark-thing gmail strange-mark-thing com. My shop is open once again if you need help with your pen.

Thanks for the input, Dillo. I really appreciate it. I will let you know how that goes. Thanks especially for recommending the most detailed description of the problem possible.
