What Montblanc is this?

This pen may be familiar to longtime MB fans, but I've never seen one like it. It has the customary snow symbol at the tip of the cap. But the barrel is notched at the end, and has another snow mark facing sideways. The nib is 14K and has the customary MB logo and 4810 legend. I just know someone here can identify it.

@Arthur Pewty, I did a little research and I am afraid that @JCC123 may be correct about this pen's authenticity. Can I ask where you got this pen? If it is from eBay, they seem to have a seller there who has sold fakes in the past that are very similar to yours. Now, just because it might be a faked Montblanc does not necessarily mean it is a bad pen, and you may still get a lot of enjoyment out of it, but if it was sold to you as an authentic Montblanc and it turns out to be inauthentic, I would definitely let the person - or even better the hosting platform such as eBay - know about your concerns and , if you want to return it and get a full refund, get help from the hosting platform, or your bank or credit card company,  in doing so. I am sure that Montblanc would probably also want to know that this model - although it is vintage - is being, or was being, copied even if they probably are already aware of it.

If you are buying pens on eBay, Etsy, etc. it is an excellent rule of thumb to not do business with anyone who has less than a 99.5% positive rating, and you shouldn't do business with people who are not already clearly established and highly respected and reliable pen dealers.

With all of this said, it may not be a fake. Anyone who reads this and knows a lot about that era vintage Montblanc should also post their own opinions on this. That is one reason that FPN is here. My suspicion is that is it an inauthentic forgery of an M model Montblanc, but I don't know for sure.

Definitely a fake.

An attempt to imitate a Montblanc pen of the "M" series (see photo of the original pen below)large_123.jpg.368da6fc36797b634dc250b22853dc11.jpg

After seeing the picture that @Tashi_Tsering has posted, I have to concur. It is pretty clearly a forgery.

Yes, I've never seen this, before.

I don't always understand counterfitters.

Looks like they made a half decent job of the body and cap parts.

But, when it came to the metal and nib, did they throw out the plan and just free-style the rest of it?

Sorry, Arthur. I'm afraid it's a fake.

Out of curiosity:

Is the cap held on magnetically? (It is on the genuine MN pens)

Does the cap post? (It doesn't on the genuine MN pens)

As David in Austen points out; it may still be a good writer and you may have some fun with it.

Thanks for sharing.

Fear not, I haven't bought it, so I can't tell you more about it. The photos are from the auction listing. Thanks to everyone for sparing me an awkward mistake. I was unfamiliar with the M series, so I've learned something. Am I right to think that the most obvious giveaway is the nib? This has a typical MB nib (Which it may actually be. Or it may be merely gilded, since it's a fake.), whereas the genuine M nib looks more like what you would find on a Lamy.
