#8 nibs for Chinese pens

I just bought a Win Sung/Jun Lai 630, with 0.7mm steel nib. Just to see how it feels. It seems to be OK, but a little spidery for my taste. So, my questions if anyone knows whether B nibs in #8 can be had somewhere? It would also be fun to try one on a Jih Hao 9019.

Not to my knowledge! So far, Wing Sung/Jun Lai, Jinhao, Hongdian, and now Asvine have made #8 nibs. I’m not aware of any Broad nibs in steel, but JunLai offers a B in their standard imprint or the heartbeat nib, in #8 or #9 nibs. You can buy a #8 14K JunL nib for around $160, less during their big sales.

Asvine does offer a #8 stub.

if chinese, only junlai b in either JF or standard gold, bb in JF (rare & not recommended). Junlai Steel max is M 0.7 as the one you had in hand ( I had two, one boncy, one stiff, what the hell)

However, JF type comes in 14K only.

For the same amount of money (USD150), Pilot 74 in B/BB/C, Sailor 14K B/Z, Platinum 3776 B would also be available from ebay shipping from Japan. All these will be smaller than #8 nib though.

Chinese M = 0.7-0.8mm; B = 1.0

Japanese M = 0.5; B = 0.7-0.8

if you go for heart beat, just +0.1mm line width above all.
