Do you need some wooden pens?

If you do need such pens, I can recommend the services of Renee Meeks at Scriptorium Pens. [This post is not a paid advertisement, nor is it requested by Renee, she doesn't even know that I am posting it. I am just a satisfied client of her.]

The following pens are my Scriptorium pen family. (Sorry for the distortions in the photo, taken with a mobile phone.)

The first 6 pens from the left are wood shell over ebonite pens. The ebonite gives stability and the wood the special feeling. The two last ones are 100% wood as they are dip pens which do not need to be shell pens.

While there are so many more beautiful woods, I guess, I will stop buying new ones and use the ones I have.  🥰    (😢 for the woods I don't have)

The grip sections are ebonite. I dislike that most wooden pens and metal pens have black grip sections. In discussions with Renee, we therefore tried to match the woods to available ebonites.

They're all beautiful, but I especially like the cap of pen 9. Looks like a stately 100 year old flattop.

One test is worth a thousand expert opinions.

Do these wooden pens dry out faster than plastic pens?  I've found that to be the case with some of the wooden pens I possess.

I don't think so but I have to admit that I haven't really tested it. What I can say is that I never had to unscrew the barrel and prime the feed by turning the converter nob. Some pens I had before (and sold meanwhile) needed that - also depends on the ink.

Can the ebonite lined pens be eyedroppered?

These are beautiful pens 👍 And agree with you that wooden pens should come with ebonite sections. I don't understand pens that claim to give a natural feel because of the wood body, and then they have metallic, and often slimmer, sections.
