Been reading Network posts for some years, wayyy past time to join! ACNP is ‘Acute Care Nurse Practitioner’ with over 40 years as a Critical Care Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. Started using fountain pens back in the day as a way to speed up and improve my writing when we actually used paper charts- a doctor gifted me a Parker 51 that I still use as a daily writer, then my dad gave me my grandfather’s 2 no-name pens and my mother gave me her Sheaffer snorkel along with the one her father purchased at the same time (circa 1952 as a college graduation present). I broke one of my grandfather’s trying to extricate the nib and feed and embarked on a journey to learn to repair/restore and properly care for the pens I have…

I have devoured many of the online resources- Mr. Binder, you have been an IMMENSE help, Mr. Nishimura, Mr. Zorn, Mr. Beebe, Indy-Pen-Dance, the Pensac company and Jetpens have provided tools and parts and supplies as I began to visit antique and thrift stores to find pens and parts to add to the pens I use. I have undertaken some repairs, even fused the one I broke from my grandfather and it works great! Of course this has also led to finding a few recently that I need to find parts for (which I will be posting in another section of the forums). Strong work to those who have posted all the tips, tricks, clinical pearls and other gems over the years!
