A customized Ranga Abhimanyu Grand

This was my Recent Experiment with customizations. This is a Ranga Abhimanyu Grand but made into a cigar shape. There is not much of a difference between the grip sections as shown in the pictures below. 

The pen is made out of premium ebonite. It initially came in polish finish which i changed to matte finish as i preferred it that way.  I used a 400 grade emery sheet followed by a 1000 grade emery sheet to do the polishing. So it is a very soft and a tad shiny matte finish. I enjoy the feel of this cigar. It is of course a bit heavier than its standard cousin due to a lack of tapering on the bottom portion. The pen however is very comfortable and i like the length of this pen. I enjoy the girth and the long and thinner grip section offers good balance. The cap and barrel are both 19mm in diameter which is almost the thickest ebonite thickness you get among the giant ebonite Indian pens.  The combination of this girth, lightness of the ebonite material and the feel makes it very comfortable for longer writing sessions. 

 

Thanks Ranga for accomodating my requests for customization and its a joy to use this pen. I ordered this pen with a jowo broad nib which performs flawlessly.

Long time admirer of the blue/cream ebonite.  The tapered section makes the #6 nib appear proportional to the pen, which is a bit of a trick given the girth of the barrel.

Yes the ebonite is a stunner. Also the grip being long makes it extremely comfortable to use
