New, early, and unknown Penesco pens - for Export?

Penesco pens, made by Esterbrook as a lower-cost line, tend to not get a lot of attention. They're common, and slightly lesser-quality than normal Esterbrook pens. They were able to sell them cheaper because they were made of lower-quality steel, and could only be purchased in larger lots directly from Esterbrook.

I just received a salesmen sample book today that has some interesting mysteries. One of them is a set of Penesco pens that are unknown or completely unlike the same Penesco numbers we are normally familiar with.

One possible explanation is that the sample book is labeled "EXPORT" under the Esterbrook Steel Pen Co on the outside. Could these be Penesco models sent only overseas? Or could these only be very early Penescos?  The sample book has the 99 John St. address which is used from 1910/1912 to 1920. I still haven't found the original announcement of when they introduced Penesco. Esterbrook copyrighted the term in 1917, but they could have used it before that date, or after.

The really wild thing is a GOLD-PLATED PENESCO??? (513 G Pen)

This is what we thought these numbers looked like before today.

510 and 513 are new numbers.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen Penescos with these numbers and shapes?
