Pilot 742/743 Esterbrook

I read something in an old thread that suggested this might be a thing, and I’m happy to report that it does in fact work. 
 

To wit: an Esterbrook MV adapter, as sold for the modern “Estie” acrylic pens, does screw onto the body of a Pilot Custom 742 or 743, and allows one to use this body with a vintage Esterbrook screw in nib unit. 
 

Pretty cool, if you have a Pilot sitting around either with a damaged nib (in my case) or with redundancy.
