good Noodlers supplier in the UK?

i hope it's ok to ask this here, regional question so i figured i'd give it a shot.

i've long been a Noodler's fan and now after some years away from the inky scene i'm hoping to restock my supplies a bit. ATM i'm looking for some of Noodlers Polar inks, Brown and Green in particular.

can anyone suggest a good UK supplier for Noodlers? i think i've tried the usual spots and Ebay is no help with this.

"i spent roughly 20 years writing a journal that extended to some 35 volumes. at the end of it i'd written a bunch of words that ended relationships, filled up my closet, spent a river of ink and afforded me some excellent practice with fountain pens. out of all of that i kept a few pens. i believe the moral of this story is that when you sit down to write it is best to keep an open mind about what you'll take away from it in the end."

I agree with Beechwood's last sentence -- but have you tried amazon.co.uk?

Have fun!

ah, seems i'm learning something here. tx for the heads-up guys. 👍

i had checked Amazon, prices seemed ridiculous, and i like to support actual shops if possible, hence casting the net for other options.

I remember ordering Noodler when Nathan first created his line of ink. That seems (and frankly was) a long time ago now.

I understand Pure Pens are one of the official distributors of Noodlers in the UK. They are a nice company based in Wales with their own line of lovely inks made for them (I think) by Diamine. I would recommend them for Noodlers Ink over Amazon if they have what you need. I think it’s important to support the small business that are the back bone of our hobby.

One final point. Nathan has become somewhat controversial for more than just his rather eccentric views on overfilling the bottles of Noodlers. As a result, I am afraid that I won’t be placing any orders for Noodlers in the future. My preference now is to support our domestic ink production by companies like Diamine. Again, if we don’t we can’t complain when they disappear.

as it happens i have no idea what controversy the Noodlers guy has stuck his foot in but that, as Hammy Hamster is believed to have said, is another story.

as to supporting local production and/or sales i agree 100%, especially in the case of a company like Diamine who obviously work their buns off staying in the game. use it or lose it.

I assume that Beechwood meant the Noodler's inks.

My own experience of Pure Pens is that they have always been reliable, and that they have given me great customer service.

I have been buying from them since 2013. Most-pertinently, back in 2020 (just as the Plague hit, and just before lockdown was going to start) FOMO made me finally resolve to buy the (terrifyingly-expensive) Pelikan Souverän M805 that I had long coveted.
Pure Pens let me drive down to them to try out Pelikans from the M60x and M80x series in person, so that I would know which size suited my paws best.
AND they let me dip-test almost all of the Edelstein inks, plus three of their own-branded inks.

I found them to be pen-enthusiasts and really lovely people, and could not have been happier with the service that they gave me.

And I have always found their online service to be great, and them to be really helpful whenever I have telephoned them with queries abut products before buying them.

Slàinte,
M.

apologies readers, i thought i had updated the story here but it seems i have not. allow me to do so now:

contacted Pure Pens, learned they don't and won't stock the inks i was looking for but will try to get one of each when they next do their annual order from Noodler's. no specific dates mentioned, and i'm not at all troubled by that, but they were helpful and understanding and all good IMO.

Noodler's inks are obviously not everyone's cup of tea but i've been able to make great use of their waterproofs and have been grateful for it. not to mention that El Lawrence is my go-to ink for testing pens and getting to know their quirks -- i find El Lawrence runs a little dry and is unforgiving, hence reveals all -- so there is that.  to each their own.
