@inkstainedruth we used to have a non-feral long haired black cat in the neighborhood. He got into fights with every cat  way away from his territory. Once we passed his way, he had a truly demented look. Another neighbor had a cat, named after the Seinfeld character Cosmo. It was as crazy as his namesake.😄

I was never sure if "the terrible tabby" was feral or just let outside all day.  But when the guy who lived in the upstairs apartment told me that it followed their cat into the apartment, and attacked HIM when he tried to get it out....  (At least BJ never did that, but he DID have the idea that Missy's yard belonged to him -- just like OUR yard did...).

Which comes an answer to the other question

What is your preferred red zone? Darker or lighter?

quite close. It is the muted or brownish red that I like the most. As it is in your photo with Duck Red on Hammermill.

Preferred red inks are: P.Edelstein Garnet, Diamine Noel, F.Schimpf Morgenröte and, at the edge of this zone, Waterman Audacious Red.

One life!

Because they're embarrassed?

Over-cooked?

Swam in a polluted pond?

Yes, very good reasons for ducks! 👍

I like to summarise them all: ducks swimming in a geyser!  ♨️

BJ would be PERFECTLY happy sitting in my lap all day -- until he heard my husband at the front door.  And he would walk ACROSS people to get to Steve....

Of course, his original owner was a secretary at CMU who got up routinely about 6:30 AM.  When Steve got him, he was, um, keeping "hackers' hours" and got woken up at some ungodly hour by having BJ poking at his face with a paw to wake him up....  Then, when he'd crack an eye open, BJ would his face up to Steve's and meow LOUDLY....

And his former housemate found out the HARD way that BJ's favorite snack was (of all things) sunflower seeds!  Robert was apparently stretched out on the sofa watching TV and BJ jumped up on him and started eating them out of his hand.  So, Robert sort of tossed him away.  But BJ came back, sunk his CLAWS into Robert's chest, and went BACK to trying to eat the sunflower seeds (and I gather that Robert was NOT amused...).  We also had to be careful with takeout from a rib house near where Steve's old place was -- BJ would KNOCK OVER the trash can in the kitchen for the leftovers.... :o

And when we got MY first cat?  Every time Obilot got ANY sort of attention from Steve (although it was apparently okay if *I* pet her, of course), BJ would promptly attack her.... :headsmack:
