They are Parker look-alikes, but...

A few decades ago, a pal of mine owned a stationery store.

He was offered quite a few dozens of "Parker" pens from the East

at a price that he just could not refuse.

After a  l-o-n-g  wait they finally arrived --- at least partly.

Unfortunately, not a single one contained an ink sac 😞

Have fun!

Why PM :( ? We want to know too!

Please kindly understand that this is the result of compliance with Japan's strict copyright laws and membership rules for used goods sales websites.

The pen in the reference link contains an image of a Rainbow 202 fountain pen.

The filler shape was different, but according to the reply from the OP, the filler guard of his pen was also stamped "Rainbow 202".

😃

P.S.

Google search. Rainbow 202 Fountain Pen

P.P.S.

"They are Rainbow 202 look-alikes, but…"

To add an excuse, I initially assumed it was a different model because of the different shape of the filler. I also hoped not to confuse the forum by posting those misinformation.

😅

Additional comments.

I too have been longing to acquire a Rainbow brand fountain pen in the process of collecting iridium-tipped semi-vintage fountain pens in China, but the few Rainbow brand fountain pens I have seen on the Japanese second-hand market have all had damaged feeds. I had given up on acquiring Rainbow brand fountain pens because of this, but a recent post by a member in China showed that parts from other brands of the same standard could be used.

Now I am once again looking to acquire a Rainbow brand fountain pen if I can find one at the price of a parts pen.

I have a Rainbow 201, a Rainbow 239 and a Rainbow 202 bought on ebay about 8-9 years ago. I found the photos in my PC, and the pens are somewhere in my pen cases . 😃

So is rainbow fountain pen equal or better then hero fountain pens?

Well, not necessarily, Rainbow had ok pens, but that was when they were producing pens, but now the Rainbow factory has been closed since the 90s.
