Unpleasant experience with CR Stationary Store on AE

Sorry for the rant about to commence. I need to vent.

During the 11.11 sale I ordered, amongst several other fountain pens from various sellers, an 18k heartbeat nib from CR Stationary Store on AE.

The nib was originally priced at roughly $122 and after discount cost me around $103.

Everything else I ordered that day arrived within 10 days. The nib never arrived.

After two weeks of no tracking updates I contacted the seller and they said they would check.

A day later they told me that the nib was "lost in the warehouse" would I like a refund or a resend.

I ask for a resend.

A day later (yes, always 24 hours to get any response, sometimes a couple of days) the seller informs me that the nib is out of stock. Would I like something else?

To keep it short, after several days back and forth, the seller asks me to "pay the difference" for the non-heartbeat version of the nib.

By that time I had run out of patience and asked the seller for a refund.

The next day the seller tells me that they "don't have refund button" until I CONFIRM RECEIPT OF THE ORDER!!! Would I like to pay the difference for the other version of the nib?

At this point I didn't even bother responding.

I opened a dispute with AE and attached screenshots of my correspondence with the seller.

The next day the seller ships me "the nib" and asks that I cancel the dispute.

Would anyone in their right mind at this point cancel the dispute before "the nib" got delivered?

I ignore the seller's request.

AE rules in my favor and refunds the $103 I paid for the nib.

A few days later "the nib" gets delivered. The nib being the non-heartbeat version.

It is not what I ordered. But I pay my dues.

I ask the seller to bill me. They bill me for $134.62.

I let the seller know that there's no way I'd pay a penny more than the original sum, for an item that I didn't order and which arrived weeks late.

I would rather return the nib and the seller has to provide a return shipping label.

What would you do/have done in my place?

Keep the delivered nib (which wasn't what you ordered) and ‘f***’ the seller. I've personally had enough of AliExpress sellers avoiding doing the right thing by the customer while also avoiding having ‘black marks’ on the marketplace platform against their track records as AliExpress sellers.

I forgive genuine mistakes and unforeseeable calamities that stop accept orders from being fulfilled, but I won't go along with minimising the impact for the seller (especially when they request I take a particular course of action, or on the flip side, do something counter-intuitive) at my expense.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I just don't use AE any more. Too many bad experiences.

I just unsubscribed from AE after talking with several friends about their negative experiences with AE.

Somehow, I think my life will continue and my fountain pens will be an enjoyable part of my life activities.

Unless it's a really big purchase, other than the principle of the conflict, often  the time and aggravation to get a few dollars (USD& AUD& CND)/euros/marks/pesos (etc.) back in our accounts, using our time is not truly worth it...IMHO.

Yes, I know that's whats "they" count on. Again, in my opinion, it's better to make a simple choice and unsubscribe!
