What can I do with my broken Lamy 27/30n

I have a Lamy 27/30n with a BB nib that I’ve had for over three decades. It’s been with me through thick and thin, but it’s been sitting in my drawer for the past ten years or so. It has a crack on the tip of the cap and dried out in a week or so. So, I only use it for my biweekly cheque run.

I had planned to get a Lamy 2000 with an OBB nib next year as a replacement. But, I recently read on this forum that some Lamy 27 nibs can fit Lamy 2000s. So, I was wondering if any of you could help me figure out if the BB nib on my 27 can fit the 2000, and if there are any ways to get a 2000 body without nibs. Also, if it’s worth it to send it to Lamy USA to see if they can fix the 27.

That nib should fit the 2000 just fine. Lamy used that nib in a lot of their pens, some of which had steel nibs even. I believe the feed should fit as well.

There may also be some people out there who may have parts or you can try to track down a parts pen

hamsterfarm; you haven't said where you live... Europe, GB, US, Asia or behind the moon,  in your profile.

We can't recommend papers, or repair men.

If in Europe, I recommend Fountainble, on the com, Francis Goossins.

A well known pen developer, and repair man in Belgium.

Being in Germany, he has done wonders for my pens.

He's repaired near 20 of my pens.

Why swap pens when the pen you like is repairable.

Over the years, I buy a lot of old used pen...some, oddly sigh, don't work.

So I will be sending him 10 to repair; 5 at a time.

All these, and one is pre-23 MB Safety pen, that was a real wreck. I'd sent it hoping for working, not compete restored work. The medium-Long 146, was also a wreck, bent cap, no cap rings and needing like all a new gasket. The rolled gold no name had its piston cap rebuilt.TsG9M4r.jpg

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.
