Question about Hero 1000

Here is what happened. Just got my Hero 1000 two days ago. Been having issues with the snorkel not working correctly. After disassembling and removing the feed. I went to gently pull the snorkel out it ended up snapping apart from feed. Now for my question. Does anyone know if I can use a Parker 51 aromatic replacement feed for the hero 1000? If not is there any sites were I can find a replacement feed?

By this, do you mean the breather tube? The Parker ones are the wrong size. However, you can buy thin tubing and replace the tube. There are these places that sell lengths of thin teflon tubing on Ebay. You can measure the broken tube and then get some tubing of the right diameter. If there is a piece of tubing still left in the feed, you have to remove it. In a lot of pens the tube is friction fit, but in others it's bonded in. If the tube simply fell out, push it in until it seats.

There is still a piece of tube in it. Unfortunately I do not have anything small enough to try to take it out

I usually remove those with a drill or tap slightly smaller than the original diameter of the tube

if I recall correctly ( I might be wrong so do take a measurement ) the 1000 use a de facto 18.5mm nib and the corresponding feed , so try to source any cheap old aerometric model that use this and pirate the parts , Jinhao 911 old model , vintage Wing Sung and loads of others , both the breather tube and the feed can be sourced but I figure the cost and fright .. well might as well just got a total package

Thank you. Might not be able to do jin 911 because all I see is the converter edition even when using quotation aeromatic filler. 

 

Found that the hero 340 has the same feed system. But seeing that it is not only vintage but gold plated. If I do get it. I would refuse to swamp the parts.

 

It does seem however. That the wingsung 601 uses the 18.5 mm feed. Will have to wait till spring or fall. Already got moonman a1&2 and stormtrooper 3 from AliExpress coming due to their winter sale along with jinhao 10. Thanks again
