Hi, Christmas is coming... what do you desire under the tree?

@ak47 This year I’ve been hankering after a good and thick desk pad of animal-free material that covers every inch of wood veneer so that if I clumsily drop a porcelain or lacquered Solitaire LeGrand or the like, as is my wont, then both pen and escritoire might escape damage.  Montblanc had announced an all new office suite for the Meisterstück centenary, but nothing I’ve seen so far fits the bill.  Lacking that, I would settle for opening my John Harrison 333 to discover that its stock M nib, which I have been meaning to change for more than two decades — first to an EF and lately to something that lays down a bolder line as I have crossed over to “the broadside” — has been magically outfitted with a 3B nib.  I am fortunate to have a vivid imagination to keep me dreaming.

Got a the Montblanc origin 149 from the 100 years anniversary as well as a Smythson A5 notebook cover from my wife.spacer.png

Also got a Montblanc no. 2 from the Danish production in coral which needs some serious restoration though. Didn’t had time to look for an expert yet.

Will also gift some vintage Montblancs to 2 of my nephews. One is getting a silver Montblanc Noblesse with a steel nib because he started his first job. The other one is getting a Montblanc 31P is he is graduating high school soon. Got a cheap leather pen pouch for both from the brand Online.

Just spent my evening yesterday to clean and polish the pens. I hope they enjoy it and that the one who is getting the Noblesse won’t lose it, he is prone to it…

@nampad Wonderful presents, both The Origin 149 fountain pen and Smythson Panama Navy writing folder!

And what a generous and thoughtful uncle you are — you bring to mind my gracious uncle and aunts.  I empathise with your forgetful nephew, but if I can manage not to permanently misplace a gifted Montblanc — my nickname as a six-year-old was “absent-minded apprentice” — then surely anyone can. . .
