Jinhao Dadao 9019

Has anybody already disassembled a Dadao 9019?

Is the nib/housing assembly screwed in?

And the converter?

If so it could be a nice donor pen.

The converter is a screw in type, but with the regular international 2.6 mouth. Thus the pen can use any international cartridges or converters.

I haven't been able to screw out the nib unit, I belive it is just friction fitted.

On mine the nib unit unscrews. 2,6mm is one of the Chinese standard, "international standard" is more 2,3/2,4mm.
You can use international standard (or whatever that means) cartridges and converters, but expect them to either get the mouth enlarged or to eventually crack.

Mine came with a heartbeat nib and it’s probably the best medium nib I’ve ever used - ridiculously smooth and wet.  I may have just gotten lucky but am so tempted to buy a spare!   I was going to give my 9019 to an FP newbie but after writing with it I just can’t part with it.

Yes, the 2.6mm is the Chinese small size. You can sometimes fit international sized cartridges and converters, but I too have seen that sometimes they will often end up cracking. They do better with actual Chinese 2.6mm cartridges and converters designed for them. I think it's pretty nice that this pen has its own dedicated large size converter so that the space can be well used.

Stolen: Aurora Optima Demonstrator Red ends Medium nib. Serial number 1216 and Aurora 98 Cartridge/Converter Black bark finish (Archivi Storici) with gold cap. Reward if found. Please contact me if you have seen these pens.

Please send vial orders and other messages to fpninkvials funny-round-mark-thing gmail strange-mark-thing com. My shop is open once again if you need help with your pen.

Why buy only one spare Jinhao 9019? The colours, the size, the converter and the price make them very attractive pens.

If you can transplant the nib/feed/converter part into a penturner pen, then you have many more choices of materials and designs.

No doubt, the 9019 is a very good pen but still it is quite limited in colors and designs. I have a number of them, with the traditional colors - I am not so much a fan of colored transparent pens. Photo below: left side MB149, right side Sailor KoP ST.

There is one more nearing my home - the teal-colored pen.

I received mine yesterday. It really looks good. It has a mono-color silver nib while my other 9019s have bi-color nibs.

Usually, I am not a fan of black fittings but I make an exception for this pen. Every design element fits together.

Remark: this time something went wrong. When it arrived, it was in one of these very thin order-combining envelopes. But it was not packed in bubble wrap or foam sheets - just in the little plastic sleeve in which usually the pens are. There was also a very heavy notebook in that envelope. However, nothing bad has happened it seems.

I can't imagine that this is the fault of the seller (only my guess) because I have received a number of Jinhao 10 from that seller and they were usually well-packed. I guess the combining/packing service agents did this for whatever problem there was with the original envelope.

I contacted the seller to tell them about the problem but they didn't apologize. So, I am still thinking if I give the seller a 1 star only.

I've gotten some things from AliExpress in similar condition.  It seems that everything is grouped together and tossed in a bigger bag and sent on its way.  That wouldn't be so bad if things were all ready to ship individually.  Some of them may not be in that condition.  I haven't received anything crushed or broken but I think its due to luck rather than packing.  The thing that really bothers me is this is the same method that TEMU uses.  While this could explain the decrease in shipping time, it concerns me that Ali is moving towards a TEMU style model of business.  Even their website has become like TEMU including all of their incentives and sales.  These things do concern me but I will keep checking out AliExpress when checking prices and availability.

I've been enjoying my Transparent Black/Black hardware 9019 with a M nib and just ordered a F nib to give it a try and to see how it works with some of my different inks.

Now if they would only come out with a 1.1 stub nib option...

That finish looks great, but the 9019 is a tad too big for my hand. Anyway, I may end ordering one.

I fell to the temptation and bought one (smoked/black). I already received it and...it is a really nice finish, I wish they made a 9016 with this same finish, as I find it more comfortable than the 9019.

Tell the seller of 9016s or any of the big sellers at Aliex.
